Nissan North America will be conducting a recall on certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles for a problem affecting the fuel system.

According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, Nissan conducted a “manual rework activity” to confirm the performance of the fuel pump. In this test, the fuel line at the tank and potentially the fuel tank sending unit lock rings to be removed. When the lines were re-installed thy may have not been fully locked and/or the lock ring may have not been fully seated. The problem could result in a fuel smell, an illuminated Malfunction Indication Light (MIL) and/or a visible fuel leak under the vehicle. In rare instances, the fuel line may completely disconnect and cause the engine to stop running without the ability to restart. This could increase the risk of an accident.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, reposition and secure the fuel hose and lock ring. Nissan's number for this recall is PC791 and the NHTSA campaign number is 21V-068.
