Ford Motor Company
NHTSA Campaign: 25V442000 SAFETY RECALL
200.1K Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Jun 27, 2025
Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.

Potential Risk:
A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 28, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S72.
Action Required: Contact your local FORD dealer to schedule your FREE recall repair.

Ford Motor Company
NHTSA Campaign: 23V905000 SAFETY RECALL
139.7K Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Dec 22, 2023
Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Ford Focus and 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport vehicles. The oil pump drive belt or drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure.

Potential Risk:
A loss of oil pressure can result in an engine stall and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the oil pump tensioner assembly and oil pump drive belt, free of charge. If engine failure occurs due to a damaged oil pump belt and/or oil pump belt tensioner, Ford has authorized dealers to replace the engine assembly as an interim repair before the availability of remedy parts for the final repair. This repair will be free of charge (parts and labor). Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed June 20, 2024. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available, anticipated in 4th Quarter 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S64.
Additional Details:

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

NHTSA Campaign: 20V791000 SAFETY RECALL
12 Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: Dec 17, 2020
Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 EcoSport and 2019-2020 Transit Connect vehicles. Depending on the model, either the driver side or passenger side frontal air bag modules are missing the first-stage booster propellant and sleeve. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Potential Risk:
Air bag modules missing the first-stage booster propellant will not deploy as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected air bag module on either the driver or passenger side, free of charge. This recall began February 18, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20C26.

ENGINE

Potential Consequences:

On [XXX] I was riding down the road and the Low Engine Oil light came on. I came home and looked for the recall paper that I received in the mail. I found it and that's what the recall was for. I immediately took my car into Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington SC. They put it on the machine and found it was in fact the recall issue. They are telling me the engine is on National back order and they have no idea when they will be getting the engine. In the meantime they have no rentals. I have been without a vehicle since [XXX]. They claim I am now 2nd on the list but I will not believe it until I see it. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

There is an open recall on my 2020 Ford EcoSport (VIN: [XXX] ) involving the engine oil pump. The recall was issued back in 2023, and I have been repeatedly told that the part would be available “at the beginning of the year” — first in 2023, then 2024, and now again in 2025. Each time, no resolution has come, and the part remains unavailable. This delay has made my vehicle unsafe and unreliable. I’ve been unable to drive it confidently or use it for essential transportation. Despite contacting both Ford and the original dealership (Preston Ford West in Randallstown, MD), I have received no specific repair date or clear guidance — only repeated postponements year after year. Meanwhile, I am forced to continue making high monthly loan payments on a vehicle I cannot safely operate. This has become a financial burden as well as a safety risk. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Ford’s handling of this recall and assess whether consumers like myself should be protected under a buyback, warranty extension, or similar resolution process. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ENGINE

Potential Consequences:

I was driving on a highway in Florida and the engine oil pressure light came on with no warning. In the past if there was low oil, I would receive an alert on the vehicle and on my phone. This warning provided no notice and abruptly lowered the speed of my vehicle. I was not able to drive faster than 40 MPH, and that speed dropped again to about 20 MPH as I was finding a safe location to stop. Adding oil did not remedy this issue. I had to get my vehicle towed to a Ford location where I was told they would only give me the value of $4K for my vehicle trade in. I was stranded in a city I was not familiar with and had no alternative means of lodging or transportation. This was a known recall and Ford took advantage of my situation. I feel like I was baited and switched for a known recall.
