Defect Description:
STRUCTURE:BODY
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2018 Forest River Sandstorm. The contact stated that there was a fracture near the front on the driver's side. The contact had not taken the trailer to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and advised the contact to take the trailer to a body shop. The body shop suggested that the outside side paneling needed to be replaced as well as placing a seal on the vehicle along with additional work to repair the fracture. The contact stated while using the king pin to attach inside the trailer to the truck, they had to use the jacks to lift the trailer. The contact stated that the weight could extend the fracture. The manufacturer was contacted another time and declined to offer additional repairs due to the contact not being the original owner of the RV. The failure mileage was unknown.
