Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Rebel 300 (CMX300) motorcycles. The right engine crank house cover was incorrectly painted, allowing the press-fit plug to fall out.

Potential Risk:
Oil can leak onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire without the plug, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the right crank case cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 25, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KP2.

Defect Description:

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CMX300 Motorcycle. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the clutch lever collapsed, and the gear shifted inadvertently. The motorcycle was driven to the residence where the clutch lever was adjusted. The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12.
