Defect Description:

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

DEF sensor was faulty and could have caused vehicle to not exceed 5MPH. If it had happened on an interstate or other major highway, it would be a major safety concern! The DEF sensor had to be replaced. My understanding is that this can also be caused by surpassing the DEF fluid "shelf life" and, unlike diesel trucks, motorhomes are often stationary for extended periods. The failure was indicated by warning lights in the dash. If the DEF sensor goes bad in a motorhome, the engine should still perform until the sensor can be repaired or replaced. The 5MPH limitation is a SAFETY HAZARD!
