The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH uphill and depressing the brake pedal to come to a stop at the red traffic light, the brake pedal travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards while in drive(D). The contact shifted to park(P), but the vehicle continued to roll backwards. The contact stated upon engaging the electric parking brake, the vehicle stopped. The contact stated that after the vehicle was turned off and restarted, the vehicle responded as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The contact filled out a form to allow the vehicle data to be retrieved per the dealer's recommendation. The contact stated that the manufacturer's engineers were assisting the dealer in diagnosing the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that while driving 3-20 MPH, the instrument cluster multi-information display (MID) located near the left side of the steering wheel was scrolling independently, causing the gauge information to be replaced independently on the instrument cluster. Additionally, the contact stated that the left side of the steering wheel was warmer. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and later informed the contact that the dealer had been contacted on the contact's behalf; however, no further assistance was provided.
