The high pressure fuel pump may detach from its mounting flange, possibly resulting in the pump damaging the high pressure fuel line.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chevrolet Colorado trucks manufactured August 25, 2015 to September 24, 2015, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured August 28, 2015 to September 24, 2015. The affected vehicles have a console compartment lid latch assembly that may fail to keep the compartment door closed in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."

Potential Consequences:
While stopped at an intersection, the steering wheel jerked to the right and the power steering systems shut down and felt like it was "locked" in position. The idiot lights on dashboard indicated power steering and Vehicle Stabilitrack systems were not working. It was a yellow light with a car and something representing swerves. The truck steering became incredibly difficult to control and turn the wheels. When it was safe, I managed to pull into a shopping center. I tried restarting the vehicle 3 -4 times before the system errors were cleared and steering performed normally. I drove 14 miles towards my house, when the same scenario happened, except this time I was driving on the highway.
Corrective Action:

Continued to exit the interstate Very frightening with no steering assistance… Got home and let sit for half a day… When I started the truck the power steering came back…I made an appointment with the local Chevrolet service center for next week

About three weeks ago my power steering stopped working and the truck said it needed to be serviced, but when I restarted my truck the system started working and continued to work until yesterday. Yesterday it failed and when restarted it pulled hard to the right. This problem seems similar to the one which forced a recall. I have 76,390 miles on my truck. My code reader red: (C0545), and suggested it was possibly the steering wheel torque sensor or the steering wheel torque sensor wiring harness.

Potential Consequences:
Yes I am filing a complaint due to my high-pressure fuel pump line and also the fuel pump. The fuel pump works but it is very dry rotted on the top therefore resulting in a lot of cracks and pressure loss. I have a 2016 Chevy Colorado four-door. When I go to look up recalls there is recalls on the 2016 to 2018 Chevy Colorado’s due to this exact problem. But when I call Dell Earnhardt Chevrolet in Tallahassee Florida they state that it does not include my Vin number. I think it’s kind of funny that my truck is having this exact issue but not this phone number please obviously the recall needs to be expanded to include my Vin numbers. Anyway it goes I have a 2016 Chevy Colorado that I paid cash money for and there is no way should my fuel pump be dry rotted and cracked like it is and the fuel pump is still in working condition. What led me to this diagnosis was I was driving down the highway when multiple times my vehicle jaunted to a halt. I was able to crank it back up and go a few more miles before it would happen again. At this point I took it to my mechanic to put it on a code reader and it was reading fuel pump modular. I Cut a hole in the bed of my truck and was able to save fuel spraying everywhere for my high-pressure fuel pump line. I ordered this line from Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet for $62. When we get there and put the line on the fuel pump it is the fuel pump nipple and the top of the fuel pump is extremely dry rotted and cracked. There is no way should the fuel pump be dry rotted and crack on a six year old vehicle. Like I said the light never came on till after a few times of shouting me to a halt and this is my complaint

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
The transmission sucks. It’s jerky, rough, and random. Downshifting from 5th to 4th and 2nd to 1st is rough. Stopping the vehicle can be a pain sometimes because it’s like the truck doesn’t want to stop. Acceleration is very poor, I shouldn’t have to go pedal to floor to accelerate 5+mph while at highway speeds. It shudders, chuggles, and creates a weird deep droning noise when getting up too speed While driving, the engine picks and chooses when to speed up. I press the gas peddle down and have to wait a few seconds before the vehicle responds. I have noticed the vehicle making sounds like it is sputtering almost to the point to seizing all together. Slow and go driving 20-40mph after coasting and trying to accelerate again the transmission bucks, hesitates trying to find a lower gear. It can’t decide which gear to go into and just sputters and chugs until I push the accelerator 1/2 way down or more and it the finds its gear and rockets off. This type of driving is not safe at all. This happens all the time. This is a known gm issue with Colorado/Canyons and GM changed transmissions following years and no support for 2015-16. It sucks at maintaining speeds; even with cruise control. I go up the slightest, and I mean like a 2% grade incline it loses its speed by 2-5 mph. And with cruise control it’ll down shift to get back to the set speed but I go nowhere. Then it’ll downshift again to a lower gear and climbs even higher in RPMs to get up to speed and then cruise control will shut off and I’ll have to manually accelerate.

The transmission sucks. It’s jerky, rough, and random. Downshifting from 5th to 4th and 2nd to 1st is rough. Stopping the vehicle can be a pain sometimes because it’s like the truck doesn’t want to stop. Acceleration is very poor, I shouldn’t have to go pedal to floor to accelerate 5+mph while at highway speeds. It shudders, chuggles, and creates a weird deep droning noise when getting up too speed While driving, the engine picks and chooses when to speed up. I press the gas peddle down and have to wait a few seconds before the vehicle responds. I have noticed the vehicle making sounds like it is sputtering almost to the point to seizing all together. Slow and go driving 20-40mph after coasting and trying to accelerate again the transmission bucks, hesitates trying to find a lower gear. The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that when she parked the vehicle she was unable to remove the key from the ignition. The contact stated that in order to remove the key she was required to turn off and restart the vehicle several times. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the failure did not occur while the vehicle was with the mechanic. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that while attempting to remove the key from the ignition, she had to continue to turn off and restart the vehicle and noticed she was unable to depress the brake pedal as well. The vehicle was taken to Premier Chevrolet of Seaside (4 Heitzinger Plaza, Seaside, CA 93955) and My Chevrolet (444 Auto Center Cir A, Salinas, CA 93907) on separate occasions for routine services; however, the failure did not occur so the mechanics were unable to give a diagnosis for the failure.
