FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE YEARS THIS CAR FAILS TO TURN OFF WHEN IN PARK. INSTEAD A MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED SAYING "SHIFT INTO PARK" EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS ALREADY IN PARK. LAST TIME IT REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF A SWITCH IN THE SHIFTER. THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND SOMETIMES HAPPENS OVER AND OVER BEFORE I CAN GET THE CAR TO ACTUALLY TURN OFF.

THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN IT IS COLD AND IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN. MULTIPLE ACTUATION OF THE SHIFT RELEASE BUTTON EVENTUALLY CAUSES THE SYSTEM TO SINCE THE SHIFT LEVER IS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE DATE BELOW INDICATES THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED, BUT SINCE OWNING THE CAR, IT'S HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES A MONTH WITH THIS LAST WEEK BEING AT LEAST ONCE DAILY.
