When backing up it sounds like a tug boat. Super annoying and embarrassing. Also when you are turning it seems like the wheels are shaking like a polaroid picture! I’ve taken the car to the dealer and they have stated that there’s nothing that they can do and ford is aware. Extremely unprofessional and just plain disappointing.

When backing up the bronco makes a noise like a whale! There are many 2021 and 2022 bronco sports that are doing this. To date Ford has not addressed the problem. They have offered me a maintenance contract and say they will cover anything thing related to this issue. They don’t seem to be able to identify the issue though. Has been looked at several times.

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

I currently am at 14,000 miles on my2021 Bronco Sport. I have had no issues prior to what happened to me on August 9th. While I was at a light my car went completely black with no warning and I was not able to put on hazard lights or put it in neutral to get off the busy highway. I had to call 911 as cars were zipping up close to mine and I was only able to wave my arms to get them to see my car was unoccupied. I was screamed at, honked at all while frantic trying to explain to the 911 operator that I needed a deputy to come and put his lights on behind my car to prevent an accident. My car sat in the middle of the highway with no warning lights on until a tow truck arrived. We then found out there is a way to release the gear and put it into neutral so we could push it to the side of the road. The car was towed to the house where I then had to have another tow truck come get it and tow it to the dealership where i was already waiting for a part. (Differential) At this point it has now been 8 days and i have no updates on what actually happened to my car but in my discovery I have read that this is a more common occurrence than not. Just while waiting in the Enterprise waiting room, waiting for my rental I met a girl with the same exact issue. How many others is this happening to and when will Ford recall this model car before someone is killed? I want answers and want to make sure when they say my car is fixed that it truly is fixed. I am scared to death to drive it now that I even have purchased road flares so I am ready for the next break down, because I truly believe it will happen again.

AIR BAGS

Potential Consequences:

After spending Sunday preparing for the week at my small business, I was driving home on the highway just before 10:00PM at approximately 55 miles per hour. As I traveled toward a T intersection there was a sedan that had been stopped at their respective stop sign; I quickly approached and the vehicle pulled out abruptly in an attempt to cross both eastbound lanes and travel westbound on the four-lane divided highway. Though all attempts were made on my part to prevent it, the broadside collision occurred in the right eastbound lane at a high rate of speed; driver's side front end damage to my vehicle and rear driver's side damage to the sedan. Angled in the middle of both eastbound lanes of traffic, my vehicle became disabled due to the deployment of the driver's knee airbag. However, the chest airbag did NOT deploy and resulted in a severe whiplash injury. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Driver's Air Bag. Yes, original is still installed in vehicle. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I personally sustained a severe whiplash injury due to the chest air bag NOT deploying. To this day I do not feel 100% safe driving the vehicle as the original airbag is still installed; if it didn't deploy the first time and I sustained debilitating injuries, how can I, or the next owner, be confident it will ever deploy?! 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Unknown. Airbag didn't deploy. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes. Knee airbag was replaced and all other repairs were completed. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO. I had just purchased this vehicle brand new, off the lot several months prior to the collision and it had less than 10,000 miles.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

On 2 occasions, 7/30/23 and 8/13/23, my 2021 Bronco suddenly stopped working with no warning whatsoever. I had no way to put on any Emergency Flashers because there was no power. The same day as the first incident, the car was brought to my local Ford Dealer and they couldn't find any problem. When they inspected it the next morning, it started right up.I had been driving the car for 2 weeks and it happened while I was driving again on 8/13/23. It died the exact same way, with no warning and no way for me to alert other drivers around me. My vehicle is currently at the Ford Service Department and they are trying to find the problem.

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

Beginning at approximately 25,000 miles the vehicle started exhibiting stuttering at low speeds (<10 mph) while turning. this happened in both forward and reverse and turning either direction. I originally reported it as possible CV joint issue. Dealer informed me it was a known issue and drained and replaced the RDU fluid. Issue went away but resurfaced around the 50,000 mile mark. same results that the issue went away. Issue came once again at ~ 75,000 miles at which point I was informed that it was no longer covered by warranty. I paid to have same "fix" done, however the issue did not go away. Ford has stated that they will not cover cost of repair even though this is an existing issue identified under warranty and not corrected. Issue currently has a NHTSA communication (10187981)

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Potential Consequences:

On Monday 7-24-2023 5:00pm rush hour in Downtown Gainesville Fl at a red light in the left lane about to turn left my car completely shutoff with no warning. It was if someone disconnected the battery completely from the car. No lights, No screen, No ignition. The traffic light turned green and I immediately pressed my foot on the brake and tried to start the engine. I noticed there were not lights, no sounds and no reaction from the engine. Windows would not go down either. I tried too put the hazards on to signal people and they had no power. The car was completely dead in the road. I jumped out of the drivers seat to warn people to go around me but traffic was whipping around me so I started to panic. I got back in the drivers seat to try and restart the car a few more times. I pressed the ignition and noticed the dash board and welcome screen flashing on and off repeatedly without success. I wanted to put the car in neutral. but the shiffter was stuck I drive and the emergency electric brake was engaged. After about 30 minutes the police came to direct traffic and he stayed with us for almost 2 hours while we waited for a tow truck. In the mean time we tried jumping the battery and for a split second the car lights on the inside all came on. Every light in the car lit up for a split second and then it totally died again. The wheels were locked so it had to be dragged onto a flat bed truck and taken to Parks Ford Gainesville. The next day I were told by [XXX] , a service technician at Parks Ford that he could not locate the issue but he called it a Catastrophic Fail and he had to call in a Master technician to look at my car and that would be the end of this week or beginning of next. This is a very dangerous thing. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
