Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Ford Focus and 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport vehicles. The oil pump drive belt or drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure.

Potential Risk:
A loss of oil pressure can result in an engine stall and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the oil pump tensioner assembly and oil pump drive belt, free of charge. If engine failure occurs due to a damaged oil pump belt and/or oil pump belt tensioner, Ford has authorized dealers to replace the engine assembly as an interim repair before the availability of remedy parts for the final repair. This repair will be free of charge (parts and labor). Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed June 20, 2024. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available, anticipated in 4th Quarter 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S64.

Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 Ford EcoSport vehicles. The front seat frames may have been improperly welded, resulting in the seat back being improperly secured. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Potential Risk:
A loose seat back can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Ford has notified owners, and dealers will replace the front seat assemblies, free of charge. The recall began May 8, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18C08.

Potential Consequences:

APIM fault affecting Backup camera and Handsfree phone system (JK2T-14G371-CCC) The issue seemed to be the result of a sudden glitch. That occurred in January 2024. The screen appeared as if the system was rebooting, then it went dark and would not come back on, no longer displaying the camera feed from the rear camera when the transmission is put in reverse. After consulting the owners manual, and trying to follow the steps for a hard reset, and reinstalling the SYNC software; the system continued to be unresponsive. After this, the vehicle was brought to Autonation Ford Memphis for diagnosis, upon which the Dealer confirmed the faulty APIM. (Part Code: JK2T-14G371-CCC) As a result of the faulty component, the Driver is unable to make use of Driver safety features such as the Rear view camera, handsfree phone system, and other vehicle information through the SYNC screen, increasing the risk of a crash

My car went more than 30 days ago for service due to a serious call Recall# 23s64-23v9085, where I have been patiently waiting due to the parts being unavailable due to the parts not being in, and I stayed stranded with my autistic child in the middle of the turnpike without any power whatsoever to the vehicle putting my life iand my family in danger, the car I towed to the dealer and the engine had to be changed as a result of the recall, however the dealer is now telling me they need to charge me for a throtle manifold part wihich works with the engine to make the car function. They want me to pay for the part that should be covered through the recall, because this is a vital part of the engine functionality. I am very disappointed with the Gus Machado ford dealer, because they have said that if I do the part, I will take the car home with a tow truck and my car will not accelerate. As a result, they are trying to charge me for something that is part of the engine functionality. I feel disrespected that they have had to change the engine due to this recall but will not complete the work, as again, this is a vital part of the engine functionality.
