Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
1st noticed problem- turning sharply to the right heard clunking coming from under car. Put car into reverse and felt like brake was on. But wasn't. Clunking stop when put back into forward and parked car. One hour later, drove a mile and a half home. No clunking until I backed into driveway. Clunking stopped after going in reverse about 10-15 feet. Drove to Dealer next morning. Couldn't get clunking to happen at quicklane. A few days later went to lunch and was backing into parking spot and clunking returned. After lunch drove to Dealer. They witnessed the clunking. Put car on hoist and checked obvious spots nothing found. Provided loaner and after determining differential was the problem. (almost $5000.00). Problem repaired next day. Had car about 2 weeks and clunking appeared when we were 3 hours away from Dealer. Called and made it to the dealer before closing. Clunking was noticed and this time at the dealer the transfer case was the issue. (Another $5000.00). They said this was the cause of the differential problems. After waiting for a week for ford to release a new transfer case, the car was again repaired. The mileage range of 400 to 1000 was given for the parts to get back in sync and stop making the clunking. We have now have about 600 miles after the last repair and an occasional clunking is still appearing. One more note. We will be traveling to Michigan from Florida in 2 weeks. (1771 miles). Is this car a lemon? Issues started after 60,000 checkup was done.

Bought this vehicle from Bayou Ford in LaPlace, LA around 2 months ago. The back up camera stopped working correctly after first month. Paid to have reset at Ford dealer in Slidell, they said wasn't on recall. It's got squiggly lines when selecting reverse on shifter, unable to view behind me. This is dangerous as it's a large vehicle and I fear running over something or into another vehicle out of view. This is the exact problem as the recall indicates. The Slidell dealer said it would be over 1K to replace a camera and I don't have it after just buying thr vehicle. This should not be happening with a 2 year old vehicle. Can someone please help me? This vehicle was purchased new during April of 2023. Since the date of purchase it has been and continues to be impossible for a heavyset person to fasten the seatbelt while seated in the right rear seat. This is due to the following facts. The seat belt buckle at that location ONLY is physically different than all the other buckles in the rest of the vehicle. This renders a standard Edge seatbelt extension unusable at that location ONLY. While a part number exists for this unique, single location application seat belt extension, THE PART ITSELF DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXIST. Despite having been on "backorder" for nearly one year now, Ford is evidently refusing to manufacture and/or supply this vital safety appliance. Accordingly, the fact remains that, each and every time our heavyset family member rides in the right rear seat of this otherwise wonderful vehicle, THEIR LIFE IS POTENTIALLY AT RISK! I checked with the parts department at Riverview Ford in Oswego, IL yesterday and was told that "the part is still on backorder with no ETA." Your help is respectfully requested in resolving this crucial safety issue.
