Defect Description:
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Potential Consequences:
The component that failed is the left front driver side headlight of the vehicle, resulting in low visibility and inability to see or drive the vehicle in it's current condition at night. The only "warning" that could potentially have been a "warning", was the blinker began rapidly blinking the day before the headlight stopped functioning; the blinker no longer worked in the headlight but still worked on the driver mirror and back taillight. By the next day, the driver side headlight no longer functioned. It is my knowledge that Ford has a lifetime guarantee on the headlights for this make, model, and year of vehicle. Due to this not functioning, I would like to get it properly replaced under warranty or guarantee of Ford.

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. Bought [XXX] at Corwin Ford Reno Nevada. April 2023 vehicle had sporadic transmission issues - slipping randomly. Took it in and explained the issue. Told there’s no transmission person. Nothing was done and told to continue to drive it. [XXX] Vehicle ended up going into reverse on its own at a stop light. Took the car in and given the same story, were completely back logged and could not get the car in. Car also had an active recall on it, never was looked at because they stated back logged until mid 2024 and couldn’t schedule an appointment. Asked for a loaner vehicle, told that’s not available anymore. May 2024 went into reverse again on its own. Called to get it in, stated they could not make any appointments at that time. October 2024 engine intermittently began revving on its own up to 4000RPM. Told no transmission mechanic was available. We were told there’s no more loaner program, transmission mechanic is 3 months out and there’s nothing that can be done at this time. Asked us if we wanted to pay $2500 for preventative maintenance and fluid top off on the vehicle though. [XXX] the rear AC went out on the vehicle also. There is also a new recall on the vehicle for the fuel pump and a loss of fuel pressure. These are all a massive safety concern for our entire family (4 kids + 2 adults) and for the general public. Ford is refusing to take responsibility for these issues and are making it very difficult for us to work with. We have a [XXX] who has [XXX] and we need a reliable vehicle to transport him to and from doctors appointments. The vehicle has a full warranty on it also. SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
On Nov 22 I pulled over to the shoulder of a highway in the midst of a snowstorm to make a phone call. When I went to get back onto the highway, my vehicle lost all brakes...the brake pedal hit the floor...and I had a low-speed impact with a berm rising up to a driveway that intersected the shoulder. The vehicle had to be towed to a nearby dealer. The only mechanism to stop it on/off the tow truck was slamming transmission into park. Due to the storm, I had to spend the night in the vehicle in the freezing cold at the tow destination. The cause of the brake failure was determined to be a material defect of a rubber section of brake line deep in the engine compartment that burst, causing a loss of all brake fluid. It was repaired under warranty. I had just received the vehicle back from repairing the body damage to the bumper when the Ford brake line recall was issued. I believed that my incident in Nov was the result of the issue that resulted in the recall, and that surely the warranty repair would have thus resolved all related issues. That was not the case. When I brought the vehicle to Koons Ford Woodbridge four routine service, they found that it failed the brake line recall test and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. However, they are not actively repairing it. In fact, the parts needed to repair don't exist. I'm told it will be 2-3 months before a part is even available. And they have failed to provide an any vehicle that can safely transport my family of 7. I therefore believe that Ford have *failed to comply* with the NHTSA regulation that obligates them to repair the vechicle. They're not repairing it. So I am therefore left to demand that they select another option available under recall regulations, preferably a full refund of the purchase amount. At a minimum, this incident refutes Ford's published claims that there have been no collisions associated with the brake line defect that resulted in the recall.

Potential Consequences:
A-pillar/hinge integrity engineering concern. While opening my door in a parking lot, the wind caught the door before I could catch the door. The door met the hinge stop and flexed enough for the edge of the door panel to contact a bolt on the A-pillar door hinge assembly, causing a small crease in the aluminum door panel. My concern is that in 30 years of driving, I have had a door caught be wind before but never had damage to the vehicle. This was not a strong wind, just enough to catch the door. The A-pillar is now flexed slightly such that the door panel gap is larger and seems related to the actual A-pillar flex, not a hinge failure. Vehicle testing of the 22 Ford Expedition has show some poor performance in the A-pillar area and I am concerned that this door issue is due to poor engineering and strength of the A-pillar. I have had the vehicle inspected at the Ford dealership and a customer service complain with Ford is in process. I do not feel this issue can be attributed to user error or considered "accidental" but is due to structural/safety deficiency of the A-pillar structure.
