The return spring for the driver side interior door handle may come loose, allowing the driver's door to unlatch in a side impact crash. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 50 MPH ONTO A RAMP, ANOTHER VEHICLE SWERVED INTO HER LANE AND HIT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT THE RAMP. THE DRIVER BECAME UNCONSCIOUS AND THE THREE OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE MANAGED TO GET HER OUR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AIR BAG DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, NO OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED.THE CONTACT STATED HER NECK WAS FRACTURED AND SHE WAS BRUISED BADLY. THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY INJURIES. THE POLICE CAME TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN TOWING LOT AND WAS DEEMED AN TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
