Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Civic, 2020-2023 Ridgeline, 2021-2023 Passport, 2021-2022 Pilot, and 2020 Acura MDX vehicles. The tie rod fastener that connects the brake booster and the brake master cylinder may have been improperly assembled during manufacturing, which can cause the brake master cylinder to separate from the booster assembly.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Pilot, and 2019-2023 Passport vehicles. Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER
Potential Consequences:
The contact owned a 2023 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, there was a loud booming sound coming from the passenger’s side front of the vehicle nearby the wheel. The contact lost control of the vehicle, and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The contact coasted to the side of the road where the vehicle eventually came to a stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the caliper bolt had detached causing the caliber to fall onto the wheel from the caliper mount. The dealer stated that the bolt was not initially installed correctly during the manufacturing of the vehicle. The vehicle was grounded. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage 8,500.
