Potential Consequences:
A few weeks ago, I made an appointment to address the recent safety recall concerning the transmission electric oil pump (campaign 246 / NHTSA recall number 23V-526.) For added clarity – the dealer identified the vehicle, saw that it was part of the recall and scheduled me for an appointment to correct this important safety matter. Today I took the day off from work and this morning I showed up for my appointment 30 minutes early. I surrendered my vehicle and sat at the waiting area. After spending over two hours at the service center, I was informed that they do not have the part(s) needed to complete this recall and that they have only today ordered it. Moreover, in talking to the advisor, he seemed perplexed at my disappointment, claiming that this is their standard operating procedure. Again, I would like to highlight the fact that I lost a day of work. I would now lose an additional day of work once the part(s) is/are in. Per Hyundai’s recall language, this is a serious and somewhat dangerous matter. Lastly, I would think that if the part is not in stock, the service center should have contacted me in advance to delay the appointment. Even if that was not done, it should not take over two hours to discover that the part is missing – a few seconds, yes. Hours NO. I am sorry for the tone – however, I am beyond disappointed.

Defect Description:
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
On three separate occasions while driving the car has shut off while driving. The car and dashboard completely shut off, as well as the radio. This is while driving! The car was in drive and then just shut off with no warning or indication. I've taken the car to be seen by a Hyundai Mechanic and the car had a starter replacement. Yet, the issue has continued. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk as the car cuts off mid-traffic. I am no longer able to brake or accelerate. The check-ESC message comes up when attempting to restart, but there is no warning or indication that comes on before the vehicle completely shuts down. I feel extremely unsafe. The dealership says it is hard to see codes because this happens mid-drive. Multiple Hyundai Owners, specifically 2023 Palisade Model owners have posted and reported this issue to corporate.

I have recently received a recall notice from Hyundai USA, stating that my 2023 Hyundai Palisade needs an immediate fix for transmission electric oil pump to avoid potential fire risk. It suggested that I should immediately reach out to the nearest dealer for a part replacement. However, I searched several dealer locations in WA and they do not have any availability within the next 60 days. The closest date I can see now available is at Dec. 11th., which is 3 months away. This is causing long-lasting concerns.

SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
My 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD engages the anti-lock braking system when I go over small bumps sometimes. It has happened at least twice in the last 24 hours and almost caused an accident because it resulted in a longer than expected braking time and distance. I have scheduled an appointment, but am unable to be seen for another two weeks so the dealer has not inspected it yet. There are no warnings, only shaking from the ABS and clearly reduced braking power.

Potential Consequences:
While driving my two young daughters to school this morning I heard a loud bang which resembled to that of a gunshot as I was driving on my own on the freeway at about 60 mph. I looked around and saw no nearby accidents or even vehicles within a 5 mile radius. Shortly after I could hear a lot of wind noise inside my vehicle, sure enough my panoramic sunroof imploded. This poses a huge safety concern as it had no impact and was of no fault my own. I hate to think about what would’ve happened had the door to the sunroof been open while it imploded, my children would have been greatly injured.

Additional Notes:
While driving my two young daughters to school this morning I heard a loud bang which resembled to that of a gunshot as I was driving on my own on the freeway at about 60 mph. I looked around and saw no nearby accidents or even vehicles within a 5 mile radius. Shortly after I could hear a lot of wind noise inside my vehicle, sure enough my panoramic sunroof imploded. This poses a huge safety concern as it had no impact and was of no fault my own. Hyundai Motor America
Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
My wife was merging on a freeway overpass and slammed her foot into the gas peddle for a few seconds to accelerate for the merging. Her speed of travel was around 75MPH when she put her foot into it. After reaching around 82MPH she released the gas peddle for the merger. The auto's RMP shot up to around 5K and maintained the high rpm for around 5-6 sec after she released the peddle. During these few seconds the car maintained the high rate of speed and the motor was very loud. My wife pumped the gas peddle twice in rapid succession and the RPM's the wend back down and the car returned to its normal operation. Questions from above: The component was the engine: A loud revving sound and indicated by the tac hitting 5K RPM after the the gas petal was released. This was the first indecent and if repeated, we will file another report. It has not been reported to or confirmed by any dealer or independent service center. The component has not been inspected. Due to this being the first occurrence the exact competent causing the issue would be unknown. There were not warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior or post issue.
