Safety Issue:

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Potential Risk:
Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will inspect the engine oil pan for metal debris, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles with the 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engine, if no debris is detected during the inspection, dealers will replace the oil pan gasket, engine oil, and reprogram the engine control module. For vehicles with the 4-cylinder 2.0L VC-Turbo engine, if no debris is detected, dealers will replace the engine oil. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed August 22, 2025. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available, around Q4 2025. Safety Issue:

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Rogue vehicles. The left and/or right rear brake caliper assemblies may be missing an internal bushing, allowing the O-ring seal to move and brake fluid to leak.

Potential Risk:
A loss of brake fluid may reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the left and right rear brake calipers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 12, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC933. The two vehicles that were previously inspected under recall 21V-286 and did not receive a brake caliper replacement will need to have the new remedy completed.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2022 Titan, Titan XD, Frontier, and 2021-2022 Rogue vehicles. The in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system may continuously reboot when the vehicle is restarted, which can result in an inoperative rearview display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Potential Risk:
An inoperative rearview camera display reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
The IVI software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 18, 2022. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Rogue vehicles. The rear seat belts for the left-hand and right-hand rear seats may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 209, "Seatbelt Assemblies."

Potential Risk:
Seat belts that do not retract properly may be difficult to operate, preventing their usage, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

When the Sirius XM subscription is set to "Not Subscribed," it may cause the infotainment head unit to reboot, resulting in an inoperative rearview camera. The second-row upper tether wires may have been improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a child seat from being securely anchored. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Potential Risk:
An insecurely anchored child seat can move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Potential Risk:
An improperly secured fuel hose may leak, increasing the risk of a fire. The fuel hose may also disconnect completely, causing the engine to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Potential Consequences:

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Malfunction Error" was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the rear brake pads and brake fluid were replaced, and an oil change was performed. The failure persisted, and the contact was informed that the coolant and EGR sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Hallmark Nissan (1300 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203), where the front brake pads and air filters were replaced and tire rotations were performed, but the failure recurred. The contact was informed that the engine oil and coolant needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was later involved in a crash unrelated to the failure, and while the suspensions were being replaced by the body shop, a 2023 Nissan Rogue loaner was provided, and the vehicle experienced the same failure with the "Malfunction Error" message displayed. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Potential Consequences:

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard without warning. The contact pumped the brake pedal to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact coasted the vehicle to a stop and after the vehicle came to a complete stop, the brake functionality returned. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where an attempt was made to replace the brake calipers; but the mechanic was unable to perform the repair. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred for a second time while driving at a slow speed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the vehicle remained 2 weeks; however, the dealer could not duplicate or diagnose cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. Potential Consequences:

The back-up camera on my car no longer functions. When put in reverse, the back-up area appears gray and there is an X in it. The birds-eye view portion works on the sides and front, but the back is also gray and has an X in it. Other 2021 Nissan Rogues were recalled for this problem happening around the 50,000 mile mark. Mine was not one of them but I am thinking it probably should have been. No accidents have happened and I do know how to use mirrors to back up but this should not be happening. I would not report it if I had not seen that thousands of2021-22 Nissan Rogues had been recalled for this issue. I am putting the date as 5/1/25, but this happened intermittently when it was windy so I thought it had something to do with the wind. It completely stopped working on 5/1/25.

Requesting further review/investigation since it seems to be a common issue on this model and in my opinion should be a recall. Passengers side inner tie rod end. With normal driving conditions and normal road conditions with bumps and holes bent. So much so the self driving system nor I could drive it without turning it hard left to try and keep it straight. I have pictures this tie rod end is much to small of a diameter to be in a position to Carry the load of front drive and steering wheels. Normal road conditions today are much to rough for this.
