Defect Description:
AIR BAGS
Potential Consequences:
Dodge pickup was traveling south down the highway at 65 mph and was met by an approaching semi pulling a fully loaded belly dump trailer also traveling at 65 mph. When both vehicles were about to meet, the trailer unloaded all 46,000 pounds of large rock onto the highway. The rocks proceeded to bounce into the front end of the Dodge at estimated speeds of 120-150 mph and lasted approximately 1 mile of highway (mile marker to mile marker). The driver of the Dodge engaged his brakes and was able to come to a complete stop on the roadway, but was struck in the side of the head by one of the rocks and died a short time later at a nearby hospital. The pickup sustained approximately $46,000 in damages during the incident, including major front end damage, a cracked radiator making the vehicle undrivable, and both a broken dash and bent steering wheel from the one rock that made it through the windshield. The Dodge was considered a complete loss by the insurance company. Both the driver and passenger of the Dodge were wearing their seatbelts and not a single airbag was deployed during the incident, including the steering wheel airbag. The steering wheel, which was hit by a rock traveling at an estimated speed of 120-150 mph, bent from the force of the impact, yet the airbag did not deploy. Had it deployed, the driver of the Dodge wouldn't have sustained such a catastrophic injury and would more than likely still be alive.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The Motor Generator Unit stopped charging the battery, which in turn made my battery die. This can be inspected. I was put at risk due to being broke down out of town on the side of a main street. The vehicle was inspected by a local mechanic shop as a Ram dealership was not within their city limits. They were the only ones to inspect it. Prior to the battery completely dying, my check engine light and low battery light came on within 10 seconds of each other. My battery died within 15 to 20 minutes of that happening.

The sun visor/shade attachment to the roof is broken on both passenger and driver side. This is a known issue, which when the sun visor is down to block the sun, the visor will become dislodged from the ceiling causing the visor to drop suddenly into your line driving vison. Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
When Filling the truck up with fuel, after 1-2 gallons the pump would shut off and I would have to repeat this process to fill up my 32-gallon tank. When I took it to the mechanic, it was found that the tank and filler neck was not properly preventing the pressure, causing the pump to think the tank was full and shut off. By the time we figured out the issue Stellantis had already developed an updated tank and filler neck and were putting it into their new trucks, but they never informed the public of the error nor issued any kind of recall to fix the existing issue.
