VISIBILITY/WIPER
Potential Consequences:
This vehicle has tow mirrors that are located way too high for the driver to see over them - I'm 5'10" and my son is 6'0" and neither of us can see over these mirrors. Over the past year I have had multiple close calls because of the very large blind spot created by the tow mirrors on this vehicle. There is also excessive plastic around the mirror that excerbates the problem. It is only a period of time before a serious accident or a pedestrian collision will happen because of this manuracturing/design defect. Very concerned and disappointed. One specific incident was when I was turning onto a road at a slight and looked both ways and pulled out in front a car that was behind the blind spot and going 60 mph. Very close to a major accident.

Defect Description:
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
My truck’s windows (all 4) have terrible seals (not tight to window) that are allowing water to enter door. Windows have a jerk motion when wet and lowering. Moisture is present inside the cab on windows. Rear windows are extremely loose and can be a potential safety issue (I have video). Risk can fall on rear passengers because of instability of windows. Repair tech stated in report that there was an issue with windows by reproducing same motions with new trucks on lot (I have video from Toyota tech). Just inspected by dealer. No warning lamps. I have been trying to resolve this with Toyota Corp. with no further details of solution. I have all correspondence.
Corrective Action:

STRUCTURE:BODY
Potential Consequences:
regarding my 2023 Toyota Tundra. The passenger side front window is non-operational, having come off the track and proving impossible to raise. Upon consulting the dealership, it was determined that the Regulator and Motor for the window require replacement. It has come to my attention that this issue is not isolated to my vehicle, as numerous reports on social media platforms highlight a recurring problem with faulty windows in this model. The prevalence of inoperable windows, whether stuck in the up or down position, poses a potential hazard. I urge the NHTSA to investigate and address this matter promptly to ensure the safety of all Toyota Tundra drivers and passengers.

Defect Description:
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was not obtaining the correct fuel mileage. The contact stated that, while tracking the mpg, the vehicle was averaging 15.7 mpg. The difference was approximately twenty percent less than the sticker mpg. The contact stated that the mpg sticker stated that the mpg would be 20 mpg. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased, he was not provided two keys. The contact stated that while his wife was using the key, the key detached and was lost. The chip was still in the fob, and the contact was able to open the vehicle. The contact stated he was concerned about not having an additional key. The contact was unable to obtain the second key for the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who test drove the vehicle and the vehicle was averaging 12.2 miles while driving in the town. The dealer informed the contact that the extra batteries in the vehicle might account for the difference in mpg. The dealer completed a wellness check and informed the contact that the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 50.

Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
When I drive the vehicle for a period of time and use a 1/3 of the fuel in the vehicle and park on non level surface: Meaning the front of the vehicle is pointed up and rear is lower the fuel gauge will register full on vehicle restart. Even if I drive the vehicle around and park it on a level surface and restart the vehicle it still fails to show the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. In addition it will slowly subtract fuel based upon driving that is inline with normal fuel usage: It never registers that you are actually 1/3 lower then indicated on the gas gauge. I have identify two ways to address the issue of the gauge not registering the correct amount of fuel in the tank: 1) Refill the truck with maximum amount of fuel 2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal, let the truck sit for 30 seconds, and then reconnect the negative battery terminal. It will then register the correct amount of fuel in the truck The safety concern is I could run out of gas in unsafe manner on the road.

SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
A few complaints: #1: First is the infotainment system continuously requests a pin be entered. I would enter the pin, but the pin screen pops up again and again whenever the system is on. Had the dealership look at it, they stated the info system has the latest software and I was instructed to contact Toyota. After a 2+hour phone call, resetting app passwords a few times, resetting pin a few times, starting the truck a certain way, and other things I cannot completely remember, finally got it to accept the pin and stop pin request screen from popping up. That worked for about 1 week, and since then the screen pops up. I no longer try to enter the pin just hit the x button (kind of hard and dangerous entering 6 digit pin 30 times while going 75 on the highway). I would estimate screen popping up about every 1-2 minute. #2: Truck has 6,400 miles on it, brakes started squealing around 4k miles or less, getting progressively worse. I have tried washing brake dust away at car wash, no help. Sounds like when a car is getting to the last of the brakes. Are they that worn in 6k miles, I hope not, but how am I supposed to know when or if they need to be replaced? Very annoying, and dangerous since I can't rely on the brakes squealing to let me know need replaced. #3: 1 week ago after stopping at a red light, about 5 seconds passed when the truck jerked violently and slightly moved forward, all while I had the brake pedal pressed. It was so hard I was certain I had just got rear ended, but as I looked in the mirror preparing to get out of the truck, I saw the car behind me was barely approaching 20+ feet back. This is only time it has happened so far, but very concerning, will let the dealership know as well, but I can already hear their response "we weren't able to replicate the issue". Fuel line recall, still haven't fixed it (but will be setting appointment to take it in for all the described things, again, and hopefully get my 2nd key, been 9 months already).
