Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
My truck, which has a build date of July 2024, is having numerous on going episodes of hesitation and throttle lag when transitioning from a complete, or nearly complete stop. The truck was purchased in early October 2024. The hesitation was not noticeable at first. It began presenting itself after about 6 weeks of ownership and 1000 miles. Today, with 4200 miles on the vehicle, it hesitated twice on a 15 mile city trip. There is no rhyme or reason as to when it may present itself...such as warm/cold outside, vehicle warmed up or still cold, or from a rolling or a dead stop. It does appear to be getting more frequent with longer delays in throttle response. I consider this to be a high priority safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I have never experienced this condition in a vehicle before and I have purchased about 15 new vehicles in my lifetime. I am now scheduling an appointment for this matter to be addressed with the dealership.

Potential Consequences:
Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
UNKNOWN:Urgent Safety Concern – Speedometer Visibility Issue in 2024 Toyota Tundra To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a significant safety concern regarding the plastic speedometer cover on the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The material used for the speedometer screen is extremely prone to scratching, even under normal driving conditions. Despite using my vehicle exclusively for regular commuting, fine dust and routine cleaning have progressively worsened the visibility of the speedometer display. This issue is not just cosmetic—it is a growing safety hazard. The accumulation of scratches significantly reduces the clarity of speed readings, making it difficult to accurately monitor speed while driving. This can lead to unintended speeding, difficulty maintaining safe driving speeds, and an increased risk of accidents. Given that this problem is occurring under normal use, it is reasonable to assume that other Tundra owners will face similar issues over time, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I strongly urge Toyota to investigate this issue immediately and consider a recall or design modification to prevent further degradation of the speedometer visibility. Ensuring that drivers have a clear and unobstructed view of their speed is critical for road safety. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Potential Consequences:
My Tundra iForce MAX was Toyota saleperson demo truck before I purchased it. Got my truck approx. 2XXX Mileage in late sept. I started noticed transmission vibration while medium acceleration approx. 40 mph in early October. Vibration only occur during transmission warm up. Been attending to 2 dealerships multiple times and they find nothing wrong with my transmission since November 2024. I got Loaner 2024 Tundra iForce recently with same 10 speed transmission, it felt lot smoother and no vibration at all for a whole week before return the loaner. The vibration from my Tundra feels like clutch slippery somewhere from transmission or K0 Clutch. Some time it makes the acceleration feels delay while it was vibrating aka slippery. 2nd problem, I noticed left front tire edge shows sign of start worn out while tire is only have 8k miles on it. Dealership checked the alignment and said nothing found wrong. They recommended me to tire rotation on 5k miles without offer replace tire that is about to show bald on edge. Tire is factory off road package tire aka Falken Wildpeak AT3WA. 3rd problem, during first oil change at 5k miles. I noticed there is oil residue on bottom bell housing between engine and electric motor. Dealership cleaned it and wanted me to come back at 10k miles routine maintenance inspection. Around 6k miles, I took a look at the leak area. Oil came back as seeping. Dealership denied and said there is no leak at this time. Saw the oil residue from their inspection report.

Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
We are leasing a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The brakes are screeching when we reverse. We reported the issue to the Toyota dealership located on IH 35 , in San Antonio, Texas. We then called and made an appointment to repair the brakes more than a month ago. My husband went to the appointment. He was provided with a courtesy ride back home because the brakes would take most of the day. He no sooner got home and the courtesy taxi was coming back to pick up our Tundra, Toyota service told him that they did not have the brake parts to make the repair and they would call us when they received the parts to make the repair. It has been over a month and we have called several times and spoken to several service people and sales about the bad service. One of the service workers stated that they were waiting for parts and the parts were still not available. This is a very poor and unacceptable excuse. I want to return the Tundra and I want the down payment that I have given when I purchased this vehicle.

ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
Jan 29, my truck went into “limp” mode while traveling on the interstate. I was able to move to the side of the road and safely exit the interstate. Took the truck to Right Toyota where they identified a misfire on cylinder 5. They reset the codes and did nothing to the truck when they took the engine apart. They claimed nothing was wrong. On Feb 22, I started the truck and it was running in idle very rough. I went to put the truck in drive and it wouldn’t go. The emergency brake was set and wouldn’t disengage. Took it to Toyota and the code showed cylinder 3 was misfiring. They took the engine apart and found the piston had a score marking. They are replacing the piston as part of the warranty. I am finding posts by other 2024 tundra owners who are having engine problems too. Seems to be an issue but nothing has been recalled yet.

ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
Vehicle has major hesitation issues. If I am coming up to a light and it turns green when I am below 5 mph, maybe around 1-2 mph, it will not go. It lags for around 3-5 seconds before it decides to go again. Sometimes from a stop if I am turning left, I try to cross traffic and go, it is very slowly moving even with me pushing the gas and then seconds later it finally goes but almost causing me to get hit! I now have to make sure there are large openings because I don't trust the truck and the dealer won't fix it.
