The 17" spare tire provided with the vehicle is not compatible for use with the accessory wheels, which can cause the anti-lock brake system (ABS) to not function properly under certain conditions.

This software has an error, and as a result, the vehicle's electronic brake assist may be disabled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac CT6, and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. Due to an Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software error, the vehicle's Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Antilock Brake System (ABS) may become disabled. Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while having a routine oil change, she was informed that the engine oil cooler lines were leaking and had detached from the crimp joint. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 67,434. The consumer is requesting reimbursement for all repairs to the vehicle.

Lifter went bad with no warning. Caused engine damage and need costly repairs. Truck only has 68,000 miles on it. Has had all service with manufacturers recommended synthetic oil. Truck has been babied and has hardly pulled any trailers at all. Never been off road. Very disappointed.

STEERING
Potential Consequences:
While pulling into a gas station travelling no more than 10 mph the truck turned hard toward a gas pump island and crashed into the island barrier guard. After shutting down the engine and restarting I pulled the truck out of contact with the barrier. The ESC light is now on. It still drives but pulls hard to the right. I have contacted the local dealer that I will be using for repairs and will deliver it to their shop tomorrow. It has not been inspected yet. After the incident the ESC light was illuminated and still is.

I have had to replace the transmission at 80k miles.the vehicle was shuddering so bad. Slipping gears and shifting very aggressively. The transmission is an 8 speed 8l90. This is unacceptable for gm to get away with this. Please do something I don’t want this to happen again. This same exact problem is happening to so many people!

Backup camera turned blue, not allowing me to view if a child is behind my truck. This is a safety issue because a child could be killed because you cannot see them. I have found out that this is an issue with allot of gm trucks/cars. But gm does not see this as an issue enough to put out a recall!

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the upper control arm and the ball joint detached from the passage side tire. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was stationed for three weeks. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer and it still had not been diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V718000 (Suspension), however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,867.

I shut off the truck, turned it back on and "service power steering" light came on the dashboard. Steering did not work at all so I shut it off. Called dealer to report problem and left a message to call me back.( I did not hear back from the dealer.) After a short period of time, I restarted the truck and the service light was still on, but the steering and brakes were working so I drove it home. I took it to the dealership on Sept 5th to explain what happened. They pulled up 8 codes from the truck and made me an appt for sept 8th. They informed me that there was a wire chafing problem with this particular truck, but upon inspection on the 8th, they said they could not find a bad wire. They told me to drive it until it happens again! Not being able to steer or brake are DEFINITELY SAFETY issues !

After a short period of time, I restarted the truck and the service light was still on, but the steering and brakes were working so I drove it home. I took it to the dealership on Sept 5th to explain what happened. They pulled up 8 codes from the truck and made me an appt for sept 8th. They informed me that there was a wire chafing problem with this particular truck, but upon inspection on the 8th, they said they could not find a bad wire. They told me to drive it until it happens again! Not being able to steer or brake are DEFINITELY SAFETY issues !
Additional Notes:
Lost all power steering and brake pedal did not work properly. Could not steer vehicle at all even using both hands on steering wheel. I shut off the truck, turned it back on and "service power steering" light came on the dashboard. Steering did not work at all so I shut it off. Called dealer to report problem and left a message to call me back.( I did not hear back from the dealer.) I have had issues with the transmission of my 2019 Silverado RST since about 25,000 mile. I've had the vehicle in for service of the transmission multiple times and the issue is still unresolved. The vehicle will hard shift into second gear and downshift into different gears intermittently. I've followed through with all the maintenance that is required since I've owned this vehicle at the dealer level only. They've been the ones to recommend the maintenance items due to mileage. This includes the replacement of the trans fluid as well as the rear differential fluids. This problem is only getting worse now and it seems that GM is having dealers push these problems far enough without resolution that the owner would be outside the original power train warranty of the vehicle.
