UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Potential Consequences:

Again on 7/15/23 while coming back from North Carolina the AC unit stopped working. It is only blowing out warm arm. We stopped at the South Carolina welcome center to shut the car off and see if that corrected it. It didn’t. It is scheduled to go into the dealership on Wednesday 7/19/23. I had OnStar run a diagnostic on it to see if anything showed up and was told nothing came up to explain why the AC UNIT stopped working.

TIRES:SIDEWALL

Potential Consequences:

225/60 R 17 99 H - This tire should be on the recall list. While driving to work (50 MPH), the right passenger tire lost air pressure quickly, resulting in a flat. Tire air pressure indicator on the instrument panel making me aware. The sidewall rupture is the reason for the other tires being recalled by Continental. Inspection of my other tires showed the left front had the same sidewall line but had not yet ruptured. Our safety would have been at risk had we been traveling at a much higher rate of speed on a populated highway. We contacted the dealer, who informed us the tire was part of the Continental recall. We then contacted Continental direct, they advised it was not. My vehicle was purchased new on November 1, 2022 with 100 miles. It's now 5 months old with less than 5,000 miles. The dealer advised they would replace the tire that ruptured at my cost. To ensure the safety of my family and myself, we purchased 4 new tires from a reputable tire dealer we do business with. They inspected all 4 tires.

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

2022 Trailblazer with approximately 21,000 miles on it. Cruise control fails to engage unless you put your foot behind the break pedal and pull the break pedal forward. This causes safety issues because a person thinks the cruise is engaged but it doesn't actually engage and causes a person to slow on the freeway. Driver also gets distracted trying to troubleshoot the issue because cruise fails to engage without an obvious reason for failure. The fix also causes the driver to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner because they have to remove their foot from the correct position and place it behind the break pedal to fix the problem. This issue is highly reproducible and was lived with for approximately a year until the solution of pulling the break pedal towards the driver was discovered just last month. Dealer said the issue is nonexistent.

Issue often occurs applying light pressure to the brake pedal. Noticeable after starting the car when it has not been running for a while. •Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Has not been reproduced by dealer. I have taken this vehicle to two GM dealers (Cerrone Chevrolet and McGee Chevrolet) and received the same response that this is not an issue and is normal. I have stated I wanted this inspected to avoid further issues but received the same response. •Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance, but the problem is noticeable by passengers. •Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Defect Description:

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

My brakes squeal on occasion. At slow speeds when stopping the brake pedal goes soft. The suv pulls to the left slightly and a metal on metal sound begins to emit from the drivers side braking system. The sound changes to something I can only describe as from a video game or a raptor from The Jurassic Park movies. I have videos of the sound, although they do it no justice. The dealership couldn't reproduce the sound. It happens when it wants. No warning lamps come on. It feels like the car won't stop on time when this happens. The vehicle is available for inspection.
