I called my local dealership to have my recall (24S24/24V267) repaired. I was told that Ford had put a "hold" on repairs for this recall. I contacted Ford and via a chat was told that they had not. Case # CXH-02187526-Q8C0H6. Ford was to forward my concerns to the dealership. I contacted the dealership back and was told that effective 05.24.24 Ford had put a "hold" on repairs for this recall. I explained that Ford was saying that they had not. I am to call the dealership back in a week to see if Ford will repair the recall.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

While idling stopped at a red light the engine suddenly shut down/stalled and the electrical system simultaneously went haywire. Specifically the dashboard alert system rapidly cycled through/flashed warning alerts for the forward collision system, then “out of fuel” then a failure with the antilock brake system. At the same time the computer touch screen went black and indicated “system restart.” The dash alerts kept cycling through the same alerts mentioned above and wouldn’t stop. I tried three different times to restart the vehicle without success. Stranded on a busy roadway, two different vehicles behind us had to take evasive action to avoid hitting us from the rear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who has called back to say the engine starts fine now. They will conduct further diagnosis.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

As detailed by others on Ford forums, my vehicle experienced a total electronic failure after a 20 minute drive with minimal electronics on. After stopping and turning the vehicle off for 10 minutes, the vehicle would not start and the lights and electronic systems were flashing erratically. There were no warning signs to this and there was no chance that the battery had died. Jumping the car did not remedy the issue. This poses a significant inconvenience and potential safety hazard to consumers.
