Potential Consequences:
2020 Ford Eco Sport There is a recall on this vehicle: 23V905000 I discovered the recall on my vehicle on April 5, 20204. I called the Tommie Vaughn Ford dealership to schedule the service for the recall. When I asked the service valet if they had the part on hand he said he didn't know and would call back on Monday. He called back and stated, "The service manager said we are not repairing those cars unless they don't start or on the side of the road." (my appointment was canceled) On [XXX], around 11:30 pm (the vehicle seemed to start to lose pressure and then a warning light came on: oil pressure to engine low. Around five minutes later the car went black and completely shut down in the middle of the road.) The next day I called Joe Meyers Ford who stated there wasn't a recall on the vehicle yet. It was an advance notice and if I brought the vehicle in it would just sit for months until there was a real recall. Then I called Autonation Ford who said the same thing and if I brought it in they would let it sit until July when the real recall happens. I called the corporate office and spoke with an administrator (OFY). He apologized and explained they were supposed to diagnose my vehicle and if the issue was the recall, call the corporate office to get instructions on the repair. So I had my vehicle towed to Autonation Ford. The service person (David Lewis) called and stated he asked his service manager, Henry and they don't have to service my vehicle and it's just going to sit. I called the corporate office back and spoke with John who called and left a message to service my car. Then Henry (Service Manager) called and explained that the corporate office was lying to me because they were telling them not to repair the vehicles and all the Ford dealerships have cars like mine sitting on their lots. Okay, i got a letter in the mail back in February 2024, a recall letter, and as of April [XXX], 2024 we notice oil on the top on the motor and knocking noise. so we called the Dealership in Showlow Ford. Asking if the recall was due to the oil and knocking noise. So we towed the car to the dealership, and it was ck and they told us it was the recall part and that they did contact the Ford company to found out when the part will be available to replace, and replace the motor, per the ford company they said they are still working on the replacement part. They did offer rental but i cant pay second insurance and that was my car to work and getting to place, I'm still making payments and full cover insurance on it. And I dont think i can wait another 120 days or longer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
