POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Powertrain failure, low oil pressure light came on, occurred while driving 70 mph on freeway with moderate traffic my car suddenly decelerated to 35-40 mph with a semi truck behind me almost slamming into me and I couldn’t get the car to accelerate to get the the side of road to safety. Loud engine noise now when car is on, not able to accelerate past 30-40 mph. I feel it is not drivable. All dealerships I call tell me these parts have not been made available yet through the recalls received recall letter 3/29/24 from ford notifying that we would hear when we could schedule service to address this recall. This was first I was notified of this issue and my car had this incident on 4/16/24. Ford dealerships refuse to give me a loaner or fix my car until ford provides the parts . They state they all have 4-5 forced ecosports already waiting to be serviced with same issue

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
on 3/30/2024 I received a message on my dashboard that "oil pressure failure" was detected. Soon after I lost power from 30mgh to 10mph. When I parked, my engine was sounding like it was knocking and then metal against metal sound. I had my car towed to the Ford dealership that I bought it from and have had it maintained there as well. I was told that the oil pump failed causing catastrophic injury to my engine requiring a new engine. My extended warranty says that there is an advanced recall on the part that failed on my 2020 Ford Ecosport, with 65,000 miles, so they will not pay for my engine to be replaced. Ford Motor has not agreed that it is there fault my engine suffered due to the failed oil pump. So, I have no car, no loaner and no fix other than paying out of pocket nearly 10,000 to replace my engine that Ford Motor may or may not reimburse for.

ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
The vehicle had been making a noise and would occasionally lose power. I had made an appointment with Ford and had just left my home to drive the car to drop off when the oil light came on, then the check engine light and a wrench light. The car was making a terrible noise and I had to turn around. The engine was starting to smoke when I got back to my home. The car had previous issues with losing power and Ford had said this was due to a faulty temperature gauge and had replaced the temp. gauge.
