Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
My car was having issues and still is having issues starting after refueling. After putting fuel in the vehicle my car stalls out. I restart the car I have to give it gas before hurrying up and putting it in drive just to keep the car on. Due to a potential internal leak in the canister purge valve this can cause excessive vacuum in the fuel tank and can potentially lead to a crack in the tank, which can lead to a fuel leak and or fire. The check engine light came on reading one code. And because I'm unable to afford to have it repaired because of how expensive it is, I now have three codes coming off the check engine light. I smell fuel when I turn my car off or I'm running I'm running low on gas. My VSA light has also been on during all of this as well. I would gladly bring the vehicle to anyone to get it completely diagnosed by any professional of your choice.

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
The vehicle started shaking and vibrating violently at 70mph on the highway followed by a loud pop. At this time a warning light appeared on the dash. I could barely control the vehicle during this incident and could have lost control at high speed. This endangered the occupants of my car as well as everyone else on the road. I had just taken the vehicle in for service several weeks prior and was told it was in great working condition. I was able to drive the vehicle to a certified Ford dealership who diagnosed the issue as a common problem within this particular Ford engine. He showed me the Technical Service Bulletin (19-2243) that Ford released internally showing they were aware of the problem but never recalled the affected vehicles. The dealership confirmed that the only fix is replacing all cylinder heads or the entire engine.

It does it every single time I try to reverse it either does not show me backing up or will show me backing up in the camera for a second and then flashes off back to the radio or flashes back to nothing. I see that they are recalls regarding the backup camera on newer vehicles. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge and has been messing up for years. Why does the recall not involve the older models?

Defect Description:
VISIBILITY/WIPER
Potential Consequences:
On [XXX], around 7 PM, while my 2016 Ford Edge SEL was parked in front of my apartment, I used the remote start feature to start the vehicle. After activation, the rear window shattered unexpectedly. I could hear the crackling sounds, and the rear window was falling apart. There were no external impacts or visible damage to the window prior to this incident. The vehicle was stationary, and the weather conditions were normal at the time. I went to Elder Ford of Rochester Hills. The manager informed me that they could not do anything and that I should fix the car before returning it at the end of the lease period. I mentioned that there was Technical Bulletin FSA# 17B39 for the 2016 Ford Edge in Canada, but the manager informed me that it was only valid for Canada. He advised me to keep the receipt in case Ford USA issues a similar recall. FSA# 17B39 informs that war and salt can weep through the rear wiper motor shaft grommet. The residues in the rear defroster and cause uneven heat in glass and cause it to break or shatter. I live in Michigan so this is a common situation of salt/water during winter. It is unacceptable that this issue was not addressed. I had to pay $397 to fix a problem that was not caused by me. There are numerous complaints in forums about this same issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
