Potential Consequences:
Ford has a recall for 2019 Expeditions. This recall replaces the Cam Phaser, which if this fails, the vehicles engine will not start. This leaves the occupants of this vehicle stranded. Our 2019 Expedition was experiencing these issues and ford acted on the recall, replacing the cam phaser at 58,000 miles. This repair/ replacement would cost the owner well over $2000.00 of out of pocket expense. Our vehicle is currently experiencing the exact same issue at 113,000 miles and Ford will not honor the recall a second time. The math doesn't lie. The life of this cam phaser is lasting under 60,000 miles. If this is a know defect by Ford Motor Co., why are they not being held accountable to fix the underlying issue, or at a minimum continue to repair the known issue?

Cam Phasers were replaced in Oct 2021 due to a service bulletin. The cam phasers are defective and have to be replaced again. This is all over forums, social media as well as dealers knowledge. Ford has redesigned the cam phasers but they refuse to cover a replacement. How is this legal when there are so many with the same problem! My Expedition is at the dealer and they have determined the issue and even filed a claim with Ford. Ford denied the claim. I don’t understand how this is even possible. This is not a small number of people with this problem. It’s massively widespread.

Potential Consequences:
In April 2024, the dealer that I purchased my new 2019 Ford Expedition from (in 2019) diagnosed my vehicle with needing the cam phasers replaced, after hearing rattling sounds. After doing some research, I learned that, in November 2021, Ford had issued Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03 -- recognizing that the cam phasers were defective and needed replaced. However, I have come to learn that my VIN number was not included in 21N03 -- for whatever reason. And as such, neither my dealer nor me received notice of 21N03. The dealer is refusing to replace the defective cam phasers. Ford is saying -- it's not covered because my VIN isn't included in 21N03. But nobody can tell me why. It's a 2019 Ford Expedition that SHOULD BE included in the recall. If it isn't, why?

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
My Ford Expedition has lost power 4 times requiring me to pull off the Interstate and have the car towed. I have been driving 75-80 mph each time this has happened. It is as if the car takes a big deep breath, and then loses all power. It failed most recently on Halloween 2023, and then again in March of 2024. Prior to these two times, the car has lost power 2 other times. It has always been serviced at a Ford dealership. All three times INCLUDING this last time the dash lights on the car have read, "powertrain failure" and "pre-collision brake assist not available". When it failed in March, even though it registered a code both on my dash and in my Ford Pass App, the dealership said they could not reproduce the problem therefore, there was nothing they could fix. I am scared to get behind the wheel of this car. I also do not want to sell it to anyone else for fear they will have the same problem. Cars don't just lose power while driving 75 mph. It is dangerous and a definite safety concern. It is not like I am driving a pinto. This was a brand new car, is fully paid for, has clean maintenance records, and is an expensive vehicle. It has been well taken care of and should not have power failure four times at only 4 years old. It is terrifying to be driving at high speed and lose power. I have been very lucky to not have caused a secondary accident on the freeway, or been in an accident myself when this has happened.

Corrective Action:
My Ford Expedition has lost power 4 times requiring me to pull off the Interstate and have the car towed. I have been driving 75-80 mph each time this has happened. It is as if the car takes a big deep breath, and then loses all power. It failed most recently on Halloween 2023, and then again in March of 2024. Prior to these two times, the car has lost power 2 other times. It has always been serviced at a Ford dealership. All three times INCLUDING this last time the dash lights on the car have read, "powertrain failure" and "pre-collision brake assist not available".
