Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
Was returning home from a drive on a freeway and noticed that car started shaking violently on right side rear of vehicle, like tires were loose, when I was close to the exit. Upon exiting freeway I noticed that vehicle at 20mph speeds+ (more noticeable at 25mph+) the car began shaking. Car shakes as well throughout braking. I took it to the tire shop to see if it was a tire issue or a balance issue, but the shop informed it wasn't a tire issue but possibly a CV related. Because I'm feeling the vibrations more from one side of vehicle, thinking it could be related to the toe link. Seeing car parked on driveway, it does seem to be leaning more to the right in the rear of the vehicle

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
We purchased the 2019 Ford Expedition Limited from Interstate Ford in Miamisburg, OH, for $49,500 in 2023. The vehicle had roughly 47k miles on it at the time; it now has 69k. I started noticing that it was downshifting when I pulled out of my driveway and got about a block away from home shortly after our purchase. I reported this to the dealership several times, and they said they could not get it to replicate the problem. I explained that it was only happening when the engine was cold. Fast forward to June 2025, I was at the intersection one morning, and the vehicle would not move forward. Then it lurched forward suddenly, from that point, I started having more issues with 1st & 2nd gears. I took it to Germain Ford in Beavercreek, and they evaluated the issue and determined that I need a new transmission. This was submitted to Ford, and the replacement was approved, but it appears my extended warranty will have to cover the charges. I have noticed that several other people have reported the same issues with their 2019 models. Ford should cover this repair at no cost to us; that's just my opinion.

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Transmission 10R80 2017-2023 is prone to jerking, sudden power loss, complete failure, hard shifts and random downshifts. Ford knows that this issue exists but fails to issue a recall. The main issue is with the CDF drum. Ford came out with a new CDF Drum in 2023 to remedy the issue. But fails to cover any costs to fix it. To get to the CDF drum a complete transmission tear down is required. Ford is involved in multiple class action lawsuits and has even issued a TSB (22-2428) but again, fails to cover any costs.

Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Traveling at approximately 65 MPH and the transmission slipped into neutral and we began to lose speed while the engine freely revved, then it slammed back into gear violently. Then about an hour later on the same trip it did it again, except this time when it slammed into gear the rear tires lock up and we were nearly rear ended, luckily they swerved over in time. The wheels then unlocked and the vehicle drove mostly normal after that. The shifts were of poor quality from time to time, and we are out of state with no choice but to continue for the week. It seemed to happen when trying to increase speed, so now I am very gingerly speeding up when needed. We will get it in for service as soon as we get home next week.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
Cam Phasers were recalled a couple years ago. I had the recall done and they were replaced. They are now worse than ever. My car horribly rattles every single time that I start it up and also now rattles when it idles. I should not have to pay for this out of my pocket. Clearly the part used in the recall did not do it's job.
