Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012 and 2017 Focus vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI gasoline engines and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles equipped with 2.0L GTDI engines, previously recalled under 18V-735. The affected vehicles did not have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated as intended. The rear left side seat back frame may have an insufficient weld between the outboard pivot bracket and the pivot nut joint, resulting in the seat back having reduced strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, WE TOLD THE SERVICE REPS UPON ACCELERATION, THE FRONT END OF THE CAR SHAKES, FEELS LIKE FRONT END IS FALLING OUT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO BE TOLD THE RECALL DOES NOT COVER THE CLUTCH. THE REASON I AM TOLD, IS BECAUSE OF THE PLANT THE CAR WAS SHIPPED FROM. 11/11/19. I REQUESTED THE SERVICES RECORDS FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. I TRAVEL DAILY ON 301(STARKE,FL) I-10, 95 TO SAN PABLO ROAD 5 DAYS A WEEK TO MY JOB. BESIDE THE TWO SAFETY RECALLS 18V-735 AND 19V-515 THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE CAR WHICH WHEN IT RAINS ALL THE RAIN WATER PENETRATES THE BACK DOOR OF THE CAR AND IT STAYS THERE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME DUE TO THE POOR DESIGN OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND ITS NEGLIGEANCE AND FRAUD. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE MIGHT BE A SAFETY RISK AND IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. AFTER THE RECALLS AND THE POOR REPAIRS THE CAR STILL UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSIONS PROBLEM IS IRREPARABLE WHICH MEANS THIS CAR WILL NEVER BE SAFE TO DRIVE AND EVERYDAY I DRIVE IT TO WORK WHENEVER I STOP IN A HILL AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN I HEAR NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND IF IT HAPPENED THAT I STOPPED SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HILL DUE TO TRAFFIC THE CAR LOSSES ITS POWER AND BARELY MOVES FORWARD ( LOSS OF POWER DUE TO FAULTY TRANSMISSION)THIS ISSUE CAUSED ME AN ACCIDENT EARLY THIS YEAR WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER UP HILL IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD . TRANSMISSION GEARS ARE ROUGH, SLIPPING, JERKS A LITTLE AND TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND CAN'T DRIVE. LOOSES POWER WHEN DRIVING. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT I WAS TOLD ONLY THE CARS THAT IN A MANUFACTURED AREA OR A GROUP ARE IN RECALL. MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME CAR THAT IS BEING RECALLED AND WE WEREN'T IN THAT GROUP OR MANUFACTURED AREA SO OUR VEHICLE WON'T BE REPAIRED. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS WHOLE ISSUE. IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE ONES IN GROUP THAT ARE BEING RECALLED. WHY ISN'T OUR CAR BEING RECALLED, IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE ALSO... THIS SEAMS VERY WRONG. OUR CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WE DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO FIX ON OUR OWN...
