Defect Description:
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
After latest software updates, the Mustang MachE gets stuck in the guest profile regularly. These profiles are responsible for controlling driver aids, one pedal driving, etc. When stuck, my vehicle removes one pedal driving and the car moves unexpectedly. One pedal driving holds with no break, this is removed and the car creeps when break removed, this nearly caused the car to crash through the garage. This could injure people in parking lots, etc. There are many other driver aids controlled by the profile which could unexpectedly get disabled. I have personally figured out how to reset and recognize this after nearly crashing the car into the garage, but Ford has issued no communications to their customers on how to recognize and revert when this issue occurs. When manufactures issue over the air updates, the need to be responsible for communicating issues and workarounds to their customers directly. The dealers (any my dealer) have been useless about any software bug and just state, wait for ford.

Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
This vehicle has an issue with persisent and now completely locked out safety systems. There's a 40 page forum on MachEForums. Currently at the dealer 2 weeks with no known fix. They are waiting on parts, but do not guarantee a fix. All of my safety systems have been disabled from this. Adadptive Cruise Control, which isn't concerning, but - Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warnings, Lane Keeping Assistance. I feel unsafe in this vehicle and Ford has no current fix. A serious investigation needs to go into this as I was advised by the Ford BEV team hotline he had just spoken to someone from California who started a buyback for the same reason, and when the dealer couldn't fix it, to call back and advise it's a lemon. The fact Ford themselves suggested this and cannot restore safety systems is beyond scary. Dealer isn't convinced they can fix it and says parts are backordered, meanwhile there's no concise fix. A master tech in the thread has suggested co-axials, while others have had their camera and camera harness replaced. Others like myself are without the loss of a car for weeks while still having to pay for it. Please launch a formal investigation. If it was just adaptive cruise, it wouldn't matter. Normal cruise is knocked out as well as every ADAS feature, due to a 'front camera' / colission avoidance issue. Another tech in the thread suggested the wiring loom was not long enough causing a harsh bend to the coaxial in the bumper. I just want a safe car back. All features such as lane keeping, even auto-braking are now gone. My dealer is unable to calibrate the camera anymore and suggested Ford released this vehicle a bit too early. This is worrying. Thanks

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V711000 (Visibility) and 22V412000 (Electrical System) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, he received a warning from the manufacturer app of a high voltage spike and that the vehicle would shut down. The contact exited the highway and pulled into a parking lot where the vehicle shut down. The contact could not restart the vehicle. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The mechanic was able to restart the vehicle. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence; however, the high voltage spike failure recurred. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the same dealer. The contact was informed that there was damage to the battery metal shielding on the passenger’s side, toward the center of the vehicle. The dealer stated that there were two holes and determined the damage was due to the vehicle striking an object. The dealer stated that since the damage was caused by the vehicle operator, the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V412000 (Electrical System) could not be performed. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
* On October 16th, 2022, at about 7:00 pm, I was driving my 2021 Ford Mach-E GT when we began to change lanes (we were in the left lane heading East) as the vehicle in front of us slowed down to make a left-hand turn. There was a car behind us and two vehicles in the right lane (two-lane road in each direction) that were a few car lengths behind us as we began to change into that lane. When I turned on my signal and turned the steering wheel, I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate to get around the car in front of me to keep my distance from the vehicles in the lane I was transitioning into. Unfortunately, when I pressed the gas pedal, we experienced complete vehicle failure. I had no steering, brakes, or acceleration. Within a short time (30-45 minutes), we had no power as the lights on the vehicle, and all electrically powered devices and components were entirely out. This made it very difficult to tow the car as it is all-wheel drive, and we could not put it in Neutral to pull the vehicle. As this happened, five cars were in the area, and several had to swerve and fly off the road onto the dirt shoulder. We barely missed the car in front of us, and the car behind us had to lock up its breaks not to hit us. Our car gradually slowed down and cost off the road about 50 yards or so after losing power, as it was very difficult to get the vehicle to steer; it took everything I had to turn the wheel to get it off the road. We put on the emergency blinkers, but the vehicle lights flashed erratically inside and outside the car. We had over a dozen warnings flash on our dashboard about vehicle failure. The speakers in the car were making a thumping sound on their own as the car was flashing headlights, brake lights, and flashers on their own and very sporadically. It was like a disco club in the car as all the lights were flashing on and of at a rapid rate. The other cars stoppe and were very angry at us as the screamed at us that we almost caused an accident.

Ford Motor Company
Defect Description:
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Potential Consequences:
I keep receiving a fault for the front camera which seems to be a very common occurrence amongst Mach-e owners lately. After receiving this message, the cruise control abruptly kicks off. All functions of the cruise control do not work in this instance…adaptive, speed keeping, lane control, etc. This fault happens about once every couple of minutes while driving. When I’m using cruise control in ‘one-pedal’ drive mode and this fault occurs, the vehicle immediately starts braking. This happened one time as I was entering a narrow bridge in Solomons, MD, and a car behind me nearly rear ended me.
