Potential Consequences:
Car leaking Freon for years causing black mold throughout the car and directly in my face for years. It’s otorless but does smell musky like black mold the technician said. Repair shop stated Freon leak but can’t locate it resulting in me losing my job from being too sick to work from black mold overgrowth in my body from this car. My son and I have brain fog, digestion issues, clumsy, sinus and throat always has mucus, fatigue and overall feeling of being unwell. This has caused my now 4 year old son and I to be in and out of the hospital for about 2 years but the last year was really bad. Ford is not acknowledging this is a problem however I found a TSB listed online. Please help me get this car fixed or help me get out of this car as it is killing us resulting in poor quality of life and life long health issues that affect our lives every day. NHTSA ID Number: 10144920 Manufacturer Communication Number: TSB 18-2256

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
This 2017 Ford Mustang was taken into Gillespie Ford for the RECALL on the rear back up camera. This was done on May 31, 2023. The dealer said they fixed the camera. I have only taken this vehicle out twice since they “fixed” it. Yesterday was extremely hot. When I used the backup camera in my garage after I got home, the camera image was distorted just as it was before the RECALL REPAIR. This problem with the camera has not been fixed properly and the dealer wants to charge me for any further repairs, even though it has not been fixed properly or FORD still has a severe issue with these cameras when they get hot. I would like someone to step up and make the dealer fix this as it was a RECALL. I believe I should NOT have to pay for another repair. They have not done this properly.

Potential Consequences:
While on the freeway, my passenger door unlatches and opens. The warning indicator goes off that a door is open and it is free from the locking mechanism, requiring the door be opened and pulled closed while in motion. The door has done this repeatedly for over a year. Most recently, it opened and almost hit another vehicle on the road. This is incredibly dangerous and a panic inducing concern that occurs with no advanced notice. The door has been checked and verified as securely fastened before departing every trip and it still happens.

Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Car has a 6-speed manual transmission, which means it has a clutch and clutch pedal. The clutch pedal began squeaking when letting it up after engagement. Then it stopped depressing the plunger on the clutch engagement sensor preventing the clutch pedal to be depressed 100%. After inspection it was revealed the clutch pedal pivot point at the top where the pivot collar holds the pedal in alignment with the pedal assembly with the brake pedal is cracked. This forces the pedal to the left and out of alignment, which prevents the pedal from engaging properly when pressed, and fails to depress the pedal switch. This pivot connection is made via a weld where the collar goes through the pedal arm. This weld is insufficient and has cracked most of the way around the collar. The only way to continue using the pedal is to push the pedal to the right and take advantage of the increase lateral play while depressing it rather than straight up and down. It can prove challenging while leaving from a stop or stopping the car since the sensor plunger can hang up and not allow the clutch to be pressed in, which could make the driver to force the transmission out of gear to stop the car. This can be very challenging in first gear in heavy traffic.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The 2015-17 all have the same issue with the ac system as a whole, it is very faulty and not safe. This is due to a manufacturing defect. The ac constantly blows hot air even when on cold and only on to the windshield which causes visibility issues which could be fatal for me or anyone on the road. I went to ford yesterday to ask about the issue which I was told “we only have one person today that can look at it” and was later told that he wouldn’t take a look, without any reasoning. I had to go to a different company to get my car diagnosed. As I stated before this is a occurring issue with the year make and model of my vehicle.
