Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
On March 4, I took my car in for the high pressure fuel pump recall and was under the impression that it was replaced. On May 7 my car caught on fire two minutes after exiting the vehicle. It was confirmed by a fire inspector that it was the high-pressure fuel pump that caused the fire. There was no warning lights or anything to give warning that the vehicle was malfunctioning. I feel I was put at risk because if I would have had to stop at a stoplight, the car would’ve caught on fire with me in it. I also drive my grandchildren around with me a lot of the time, but on this date, I had no children with me. Honda has not responded or assigned a case manager to the incident and it’s been two weeks.

Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
My accord has an EPS gearbox recall. Causing problems with steering. The issue has been confirmed by Honda dealership. I’ve researched the issue, it could cause the vehicle to lose steering control and crash. I started hearing a loud springy/scraping noise about a week and a half ago. I took my vehicle to Pat Peck Honda (Gulfport, MS) the next day. Today I was at the dealership for 5 hours, they claimed they fixed the issue. After leaving, my car is making the same noise. Worried for the safety of myself and my child. The dealership stated they cannot give me a loaner, yet they have not fixed the issue.

SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
Several times the vehicle has automatically braked at low speeds (20-30 mph), nothing in front of the vehicle to cause this. Today it automatically braked...HARD...at 55 mph, again, nothing in front of vehicle, clear morning, road was clear. It braked so hard I'm pretty sure I have whiplash. I immediately called Victory Honda. They told me to go wash my car and call them back if it happens again. The only warning it gave was the brake light and beeping, but it was instant. Thankful there was no one behind me.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
December 2024, I received a recall notice from Honda that the fuel pump on the car make be defective. A couple weeks later I smell a strong gas odor inside the car. it was towed to the local Honda dealer and inspected. The pump was tested but showed no signs of cracking under pressure. Honda is claiming that they have fulfilled their obligation and is not going to replace the pump. When asked if they would guarantee that it would not fail in the future, they would not. Just because it hasn't failed yet, doesn't mean it won't. I believe that it is Honda's responsibility to replace this pump with one they know was not improperly made.

Honda (american Honda Motor Co.)
Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
While driving the vehicle, usually while passing another vehicle, it slams on the brakes suddenly and decelerates rapidly. I suspect it has something to do with how it reads it's surroundings. When it happens, which is without warning, the BRAKE light comes on the dash. It has happened multiple times but recently it was a close call with another vehicle behind me on the interstate. Which is why I'm taking the time to report this. I have not had it inspected.
Corrective Action:
