Defect Description:
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Potential Consequences:
While driving the vehicle, usually while passing another vehicle, it slams on the brakes suddenly and decelerates rapidly. I suspect it has something to do with how it reads it's surroundings. When it happens, which is without warning, the BRAKE light comes on the dash. It has happened multiple times but recently it was a close call with another vehicle behind me on the interstate. Which is why I'm taking the time to report this. I have not had it inspected.

Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
The steering wheel sticks in either direction when driving. It makes it difficult to drive straight on the turnpike especially on the tighter sections of the road. Making small corrections becomes difficult when the steering wheel sticks and I end up snapping back and forth on the lanes. I have brought the issue up to the dealer twice a year apart and they won't confirm the issue because the computer didn't flag anything. Previously about a year ago I told the dealer about the steering issue but they didn't know what was wrong and then a few months later the recall for the steering was issued. I assume its the same issue but the Honda accord model is missing from the recall list.

Honda (american Honda Motor Co.)
Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
ISSUE TYPE: Safety Concern “Brakes Auto Engage When Driving At ANY Speed and Parking Brake Lever Is Raised” DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM: I inadvertently lifted up on the Parking Brake switch in center console while driving about 30mph, trying to turn off a different switch on the console. This caused the vehicle to slam-on the brakes, narrowly avoiding a rear-end collision. It is labeled as a Parking Brake but is also an Emergency Brake (I discovered) that can be triggered by anyone who has their hand around the center console and accidentally raises this switch. This poses a serious safety risk to passengers and causing rear-end collisions! STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1Drive the vehicle at any speed (cruise, increasing/decreasing) 2Lift up the Parking Brake lever only momentarily and release 3The vehicle immediately slams-on full rear-brakes then releases 4Hold the switch UP for longer period - experience a full-on emergency stop. Poor excuse for Honda's Parking Brake system. Emergency Brake should be located elsewhere on the dash away from console. DEALER SERVICE: Told me this is normal, as lifting the Parking Brake "up" will engage the rear wheel calipers full-on REGARDLESS of speed! This is not normal Parking Brake action and very dangerous. The manual does not point out this is a FULL-ON braking. They say it "will assist in braking". This is just wrong & needs a software correction now. The Parking Brake should never be able to engage when the wheels are turning at ANY speed. We don't need a 2 wheel Emergency Brake for a super-obscure, super-rare brake failure (if ever). CORRECTIVE ACTION: Simple software modification needed... if the Parking Brake lever is lifted (accidentally) AND the wheels are turning it should INHIBIT the brakes from being slammed-on. An Emergency Brake should be in a separate place on the dash. Honda should fix this very dangerous condition to make it a Parking Brake ONLY. It should only engage when stopped (like in a parking spot).
Corrective Action:

STEERING
Potential Consequences:
I purchased this vehicle in January 2014 and it’s been giving problems since then. I have replaced the gas cap twice because it always gets stuck and I’m unable to open the door. I spoke to the Honda dealer where I purchased and they told me to contact American Honda. I have replaced my tires twice because once it blew on the freeway and the other time on the street out of nowhere. I’m currently at the dealer because the TPMS light came on yesterday and I’m afraid to drive the car with my small children and the Service Director told me there’s no staff to assist me and I might have to wait over 3 hours to take a look at my car. He said the recall for the steering wheel is not a safety issue. Every time I park and rotate the steering wheel it makes a squeaky sound and I’m tired of dealing with issues on a vehicle that I leased less than a year ago. Please help, I use my car to drive my kids to school.

STEERING
Potential Consequences:
The Steering is stiff and pulls to the left . When steering the driver has to overcompensate to make small changes . it sometimes ping pongs back and forth and pulls to the left and sometimes to the right. The alignment was checked by a Honda Dealer and was ok. There are no warning lights. I am trying to get the manufacturer to inspect this vehicle , because I have taken it to the dealer and they deny any problems with it. After driving it, the dealership stated "it was within specifications" . I am in the process of having a different dealer to look at it because the manufacturer will not inspect it until a dealer finds a problem. I have opened a case with the manufacturer , but can't get them to inspect the vehicle as of yet. I feel the vehicle is dangerous to drive. I have nearly lost control of the vehicle on 2 occassions when it was pulling to the left and came within inches of hitting a truck. This is not driver error , I have a perfect driving record.

Potential Consequences:
The Instrument Panel Display combined with the Front Sensor Camera failed. This risked my live as well as others lives on the road due to the ill ability to predict when it will fail as well as the difficulty to control the sporadic behavior. The Lane Keep assist system would also overcorrect and have very strong and hard to control corrections with the wheel. The Instrument panel would also turn off mid drive and I would not be able to see my speedometer. It has been seen by multiple diffferent Honda Service Centers and no one can figure out the issue. Camera issues have been recalled on previous models.
