Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Potential Risk:
Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Passport, 2016-2019 Pilot, and 2017-2020 Ridgeline vehicles. The hood latch striker may become damaged and separate from the hood, which can result in the hood opening while driving.

Potential Risk:
A hood that opens while driving can obstruct the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will either repair the hood latch striker, or replace the hood if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PBV.

Potential Consequences:

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA PILOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALSER HONDA (14800 BUCK HILL RD, BURNSVILLE, MN 55306) WHERE THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS TURNED OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS REPLACED. WHILE TRAVELING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, UPON DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.

MY CAR WAS BUCKING AND SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY NOT EVEN A FULL MONTH AFTER THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED AND BACK IN THE 9 TIMES AGAIN WITHIN A YEAR.I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS SOLD A VEHICLE BRAND NEW I DO NOT BELIEVE THE TRANSMISSION AND OR VEHICLE FOR THAT MATTER SHOULD BE GIVING ME SAFETY ISSUES AT ONLY 16,000 MILES AND THEN AGAIN AT 33,351 MILES; WITHOUT RECOURSE. THE DEALER SUGGESTED TO BUY MY CAR BACK ' PUT IT BACK ON THE LOT AND PUT ME INTO A DIFFERENT LOAN THAT WOULD INCREASE MY PAYMENTS. I AM LOOKING FOR SOME ASSISTANCE HERE SO THAT I MAY BE IN A VEHICLE THAT IS SAFE, DEPENDABLE, AND RELIABLE. I AM FIRM IN MY BELIEF AFTER DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND EXPERIENCING THE FAULTINESS OF THE VEHICLE THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE. *UPDATE 3RD GEAR PRESSURE SWITCH REPLACED TWICE.

FOR A WHILE NOW THE CAR HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH STARTING AFTER THE AUTO IDLE ENGINE STOP HAS ENGAGED. IT IS SLOW TO START, THE RADIO AND INFOTAINMENT SCREEN CUT OUT, AND THERE IS A POPPING NOISE. WHEN WE HAD THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE LAST, WE MENTIONED THIS AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND TO RECORD IT HAPPENING. I'M SUPPOSED TO DRIVE AROUND RECORDING EVERYTHING? THIS HAS PROGRESSED TO THE OTHER NIGHT MY WIFE WAS ALONE IN THE CAR AND IT COMPLETELY DIED AT A RED LIGHT, WITH CARS ALL AROUND HER. SHE WAS FRANTICALLY TRYING TO GET IT STARTED AFTER IT SAID TO SWITCH TO PARK AND RESTART. IT WOULDN'T START FOR 5-6 ATTEMPTS AND THEN FINALLY STARTED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND TO THINK IT COULD HAPPEN WITH MY KID IN THE CAR. WE WILL BE SETTING UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. ALSO, THE SHIFTING OF GEARS IN THE CAR IS ROUGH BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. IT'S ALWAYS BETWEEN 25-30 MPH WHEN THE HARD SHIFT HAPPENS. IT'S LIKE THE CAR DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN.
