Safety Issue:
Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2012-2016 Kia Soul vehicles equipped with 1.6L Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. High exhaust gas temperatures may damage the catalytic converter, possibly resulting in abnormal engine combustion and damage to one or more of the engine's pistons and possible piston connecting rod failure.

MY KIA SOUL WAS SOLD TO ME WITHOUT ALERTING ME TO A SAFETY RECALL. A MANAGER AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID THEY'VE KNOWN ABOUT THE RECALL FOR "SOME TIME" NOW. THEY CAN'T GET MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER. ALTHOUGH NHTSA WARNS THE SPECIFIC HARM TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, ENGINE, PISTONS AND POSSIBLY HARM TO MYSELF AND OTHERS I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT. I THREW A ROD AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO SAY IT'S LIKE A MINT MAINTENANCE NOT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM OF THE BURNING OIL WHICH IS A CAUSE FOR LAWSUITS TOWARDS KIA. THE DEALERSHIP AND KIA ARE REFUSING TO FIX THE CAR EVEN KNOWING IT IS UNDER A RECALL AND WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR IS PART OF THE RECALL.
