A short circuit may develop in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor, preventing the front passenger air bag from deploying.

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, unknown warning lights started flashing on the instrument panel. The vehicle started losing motive power and became difficult to control and pulled to the center lane unintendedly. The contact stated that moments later the failures ceased, and the vehicle started to operate as intended. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Recently the failure reoccurred, and the dealer determined that the failure was caused by a faulty battery. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 32,000.

sunroof and its now at the shop for repair. My safety was put at risk if because it sound as a gunshot and could have cause me to swerve into another line. If the sunroof had been open the glass could of cut me. unknown if the problem has been reproduced or confirmed. it has been inspected by the shop that's doing the repair. No warnings at all. I was traveling down the road and heard something that sounded like a gun shot. It then sounded like a window was open. Once I got home I inspected my car and pulled back the shade and realize the sunroof was shattered in pieces. If I had my sunroof open the glass could of fell in on me. I called my insurance company and they didn't inspected but ordered parts to fix it. They originally told me it would be a 0 dollar deductible. Now the car is in the shop to be repaired, I'm told they found other things and I would have to pay a $500 deductible now.

I am a tech who has seen multiple failures of the crankshaft position plate which is mounted between the flywheel and crankshaft brake causing engine to shut down while driving due to crank position sensor not receiving signal. I am concerned because my wife drives one which is the vin I gave, that her car may cut off in traffic causing a accident. This part is defective with holes cut around it where the new replacement part is solid.This should be replaced at no cost to customers when vehicle warranty coverage has run out. Information below is for a vehicle that I worked on and have seen 3 others. One resulting in engine & transmission replacement due to excessive damage from plate coming apart. I work for Toyota & don't want my identity shared with them.

I am allergic to mold, and it has triggered my asthma, and I am now using an inhaler while driving my passenger car, which can cause an accident. Please look into this problem which has been reported for years as I researched this apparent over site. I love the automobile otherwise.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
Several times when I was driving without cruise control down the hill from our home, the car's automatic brake turned on when I passed another car. The car incorrectly sensed that I was going to hit or be hit by the passing car and the automatic emergency brake turned on. Nothing happened except I was startled and puzzled. I was driving less than 30 mph on a residential street.
Corrective Action:
Several times when I was driving without cruise control down the hill from our home, the car's automatic brake turned on when I passed another car. Car is just above 36 k and gave me engine light on not wanting to turn the engine on . I called a mechanic to stop by and maybe reset the computer …so much I know(the dash board was giving me a hybrid system failure) but the reader said its fuel pump control circuit low ,witch on the other hand is not allowing the car to start of and somehow related to the vehicle stability module and break system not mentioning a solenoid problem as well…

I called a mechanic to stop by and maybe reset the computer …so much I know(the dash board was giving me a hybrid system failure) but the reader said its fuel pump control circuit low ,witch on the other hand is not allowing the car to start of and somehow related to the vehicle stability module and break system not mentioning a solenoid problem as well…

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
While driving the Camry at 45 mph among the flow of traffic on a state highway in Florida, out of the blue the vehicle's speedometer on the instrument cluster was replaced with a flashing red box and the brakes applied themselves fully with no command or input given whatsoever. The Camry immediately screeched to a stop in the middle of the road within a couple seconds, causing the vehicle behind me to slam into the Camry at full speed. There were no other vehicles or obstacles ahead of me at all, this fact was also observed by witnesses. The automation had triggered for no apparent reason, overriding my control of the Camry and stopping it in the middle of a major highway, causing the accident. Despite the intensity of the crash, the air bags of the vehicle failed to deploy in the impact, worsening the severity of my injuries. Both the Camry and the other motorist's car were rendered inoperable and totaled in the accident, they had to be towed from the scene. The police ruled the cause of the accident to be vehicular malfunction of the Camry.
