Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The engine started to shake violently while traveling down the interstate, my speeds reduced against my will. My safety and the safety of others was jeopardized while I'm traveling down an interstate with a minimum speed of 70 mph and my truck speed reduced to 35 mph or less. After an inspection from the dealership, I assumed the responsibility of having the engine rebuilt that cost me thousands of dollars. As the vehicle started to reduce speed is when the onstar alert went off. After having my vehicle for 10 ten days I receive it in worst condition that I gave it to them. Approximately 2 weeks later, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership which they diagnosed it as needing the throttle body replaced. I allowed the dealership to fix that issue. Upon them returning the vehicle to me, I now have an electrical issue. The dealership stated that they may have crossed wires. The windows would roll down once I locked the vehicle, the door would constantly unlocked while I'm driving and the radio would shut down and restart while driving. The dealership was unable to find the problem so they decided to turn off everything so these I would not have these issues. Now I can smell something burning from time to time while I'm driving.

Potential Consequences:
Coolant control valve malfunction on my truck with 43300 miles that causes my truck to go into limp mode. Took to dealership and was told I had to pay for an update to the ECM computer that is tied to the warning light. I was told that there are lots of recalls for this part but that I have to pay for a software update as a first line step to see if this will fix the issue. This is a known part failure that needs to be recalled and resolved and owners shouldn’t have to pay for software updates to fix there faulty parts.

Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
- Failed Engine Coolant Control Valve, it was made available for inspection at a Chevy and GMC dealership - Failure of this part puts my family and other drivers at risk especially when towing our camper in the mountains of Colorado. The engine goes into "low power mode" which creates the possibility of overheating while driving and the coolant circulation to operate not as intended in the design of the vehicle. - Yes, the dealership was able to reproduce the condition and is sitting at the dealership now for 44 days as it is been considered "not drivable". - Yes, the dealership has been inspected by Emich Chevrolet in Lakewood, CO. - The check engine light did come on and produced GM code P1098. The engine goes into low power mode where the fans are on high and tells you to be careful when driving the vehicle. It first appeared in March 2024, the vehicle only has ~22,000 miles on it, bought new from the dealer.

Potential Consequences:
I live in Eagar Arizona, we are currently under evacuation orders due to the Greer fire. My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is not usable to leave the area. Because of the well known and seemingly unaddressed issue of a "coolant control valve" my truck has less than 29000 miles and is, in my opinion unsafe to use to escape a forest fire. I am sure there are other safety concerns applicable to the KNOWN design flaw. More importantly Chevrolet seems disinterested in resolving this nationwide problem with any type of expediency.

ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
I was coming out of my workplace, made a right turn on to a Main Street, the lights were red so I was waiting to proceed and my truck engine just shut off. As the light turned green, I attempted to start the truck by turning the key off to restart the truck again, I tried twice to restart the truck, but it wouldn’t turn over, I couldn’t put my hazard lamps on because I lost all power. I was afraid because two 18 wheeler trucks were coming behind me . This area is heavily used by the trucking industry delivering goods to companies in the area. I was terrified that I was going to be hit from behind, I gave the ignition another try and the truck started, but it was sluggish in pulling off. I called the dealership that day and my new truck was at the dealership for almost a week. The following day of my drop off, the dealership said they recieved a recall on my truck. I have the repair ticket from the dealership. I no longer have faith in the truck that I paid so much money for, not the company that built it.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is unable recognize that it has been placed in park consistently, essentially trapping us in the vehicle until the "Shift to Park" error gets corrected. After shifting the vehicle into park and pressing the button to turn off the vehicle, an error comes up on the dash saying "Shift to Park". In order to clear this error and have the vehicle recognize that it is safely parked, we must turn the vehicle back on, put the vehicle in reverse or drive, and depress the gas pedal to move the vehicle slightly, shift the vehicle to park again, wait at least 30 seconds to a minute, and then finally press the button to turn off the vehicle. And we must repeat this anywhere from 3 to 15 times until the brakes safely engage to park the vehicle. I worry that the vehicle wont safely go into park and will roll away on its own. This is the same error that was reported for other GM models recently and is affecting the safety, reliability, usability, and longevity of this vehicle.
