SHIFT TO PARK ERROR THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT. IT WILL GIVE YOU A "ACTION REQUIRED: SHIFT TO PARK" ON THE DISPLAY WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TURN OFF THE CAR. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE CALL IT REPLACING BECM OR REPLACING THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY CONSIDERED COVERED IN THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, HOWEVER, EVERY VOLT HAS THIS ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY GM AND FULLY COVERED. ONE IS UNABLE TO LOCK THE CAR AND THE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON FOR A FEW MINUTES. WORSE YET, THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT BUT GETS WORSE OVER TIME. THERE ARE COUNTLESS ONLINE COMPLAINTS FROM 17 VOLT OWNERS SHOWING THE SAME ISSUE (THIS IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH OTHER GM MODELS & I AM ALSO SEEING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE). MY VOLT WAS T-BONED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR BY A RED LIGHT RUNNER. I HAD JUST STARTED TO ENTER INTO THE INTERSECTION A SECOND OR SO AFTER MY LIGHT TURNED GREEN, SO NOT GOING VERY FAST. THE OTHER CAR WAS GOING 25-35 MPH (APPROX.). THIS WAS ON A CITY STREET, BOTH ONE WAYS STREETS SO THAT DRIVER WAS ABLE TO BUILD UP SOME MOMENTUM. I WAS PUSHED INTO THE CAR TO MY LEFT (DRIVER'S SIDE).
