Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE JERKED. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND RESTART. IN ADDITION, THE "AUTO STOP" INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FOX HILLS CHRYSLER JEEP (734-892-2220, LOCATED AT 111 ANN ARBOR RD, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE WENT TO OUR PARKED CAR, PUSHED THE BUTTON ON THE CHRYSLER HANDLE, WENT TO THE FRONT SEAT, LOCKED THE CAR, AND TURN THE CAR IN THE ACC POSITION WHICH BLEW OUT HOT AIR. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO TURN ON BECAUSE THE KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE CAR. HE TRIED CLIMBING IN THE BACK TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN BUT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS LOCKED IT WOULDN'T OPEN. ALL HE HAD TO DO TO GET IN THE CAR WAS PUSH A BUTTON BUT ONCE THE CAR WAS LOCKED IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT. IT'S BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. EACH TIME THEY REPORT THAT THEY CHARGED THE BATTERIES AND EVERYTHING IS FINE AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT LET THEM REPLACE EITHER BATTERY SINCE "NO ERROR CODE IS REPORTED". SUPPOSEDLY THEY CHECKED THE CHARGING SYSTEM AS WELL AS LOOKED FOR A PARASITIC DRAW AND FOUND NOTHING. WE ARE AFRAID TO USE THE VEHICLE LEST WE GET STUCK FAR FROM HOME. WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN, THE CAR BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AND IT FINALLY STOPPED ROLLING. THE BRAKE PRESSURE BUILT BACK UP AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE BREAK CHECK VALVE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. THE DEALERSHIP HAS THE VEHICLE STILL, AND HAS NOT REPAIRED THE ISSUE.
