Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS/ COMING OUT OF PARKING LOTS, OUR CHRYSLER PACIFICA WILL STALL. IT DOES A HARD SHIFT AND JOLTS FORWARD, AS IF A GEAR HAS SLIPPED OR WE HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED. THE FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT IN FOR THIS ISSUE WAS IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017 WHEN THE CAR HAD ABOUT 32,000 MILES. NUMEROUS 'SOFTWARE UPDATES' HAVE BEEN DONE AND A VALVE THROTTLE BODY WAS PUT ON IN JUNE 2018 TO TRY AND RESOLVE THE ISSUE AFTER MANY FORMER ATTEMPTS. IT WORKED FOR A COUPLE MONTHS, BUT NOW WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE STALL/ HARD SHIFT AGAIN. CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER CARE HAS BLANTANTLY DENIED ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO SUPERVISORS AND POINTS THE FINGER AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHILE THEY POINT FINGERS AR CHRYSLER. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT, BEHIND SEVERAL CARS, IN TRAFFIC. ON MULTIPLE OCASIONS, THE ENGINE SHUTOFF FEATURE SHUT OFF JUST AS I WAS TRYING TO TURN LEFT ON A BUSY STREET. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO PULL ABOUT TEN FEET INTO TRAFFIC AND THEN IT STALLES FOR AN UNSAFELY LONG DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. IT IS A PROBLEM WHEN IS DECIDES TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF JUST AS I DECIDE TO TURN LEFT. IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL AND THEN LURCH AS IT TRIED TO COME BACK ON. I USUALLY REMEMBER TO SHUT THIS FEATURE OFF BUT IT ALWAYS COMES BACK ON EVERY TIME YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE. KEN GARF CHYSTLER DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THIS FEATURE TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ENGINE SHUTOFF FEATURE INTENDED TO SAVE SOME FUEL. I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH FUEL IT SAVES IF IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT! THE AI FOR THIS NEEDS REFINEMENT AND IT NEEDS TO BE DISABLED WHEN LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS ENGAGED SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN.

I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS INTO OWNERSHIP. THE CAR STARTED TO SHIFT HARD. SOMETIMES WHEN IT WOULD SHIFT IT WOULD FEEL LIKE I WAS BEING REAR ENDED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS TOLD EACH TIME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SEVERAL TIMES I WOULD BE PARKED AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE RIGHT AWAY. IT WOULD HESITATE, SHIFT REALLY HARD LIKE I WAS BEING HIT AND THEN THE CAR WOULD MOVE. ONE DAY I WAS STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. WHEN I GOT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION THE CAR WENT TO SHIFT AND IT FELT LIKE I GOT HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND SLOWED DOWN. I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN AGAIN, IT FELT LIKE I HAD GOTTEN HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. I DROVE RIGHT TO THE DEALER. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A MONTH. THEY SAY THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY AT THAT POINT AND MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND COMPLETELY FIXED. ONE WEEK LATER, I WAS PARKED AT A STORE. I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD BATTERY POWER, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID A GROUND WIRE CAME LOOSE, AND MY CAR WAS FIXED AND SAFE TO DRIVE. THAT NIGHT MY FAMILY WAS GOING ON A LONG DRIVE. TEN MINUTES INTO THE TRIP, WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD, WE LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR WITHOUT ANY WARNING.
