Safety Issue:
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Potential Consequences:
Currently my sliding passenger side door is in the locked position and will not unlock. I purchased the vehicle in January 2016 and had the drivers side sliding door lock actuator replaced by dealer in September 2018. I am now incurring the cost of having the passenger side actuator replaced. I believe this is a major safety issue as my children cannot exit the vehicle on one side, twice now on a relatively new vehicle. The door lock CANNOT be utilized in a manual manor thus it is either risk having to exit through the rear lift gate or front door or pay to have the part replaced. I will ask to have the defective part retained for inspection on the current broke side. There is a FCA service bulletin, 23-017-20 currently recommending dealers replace both sides when brought ot hteir attention.

Both passenger and drivers side sliding doors emits a buzzing sound when unlock / locking. Driver side sliding now no longer locks, the auto open/close feature does not work, and often times cannot securely close the door without manual manipulation. the sliding doors on the 2016 doge caravan quit working and are in locked position with no way to open ( really bad if young ones are strapped in their car seats) Chrysler will not help in any way, body shop wants to cut holes in door, dodge dealer was pretty informed on it but said they probably will break something trying to repair it, cost per door $150 to 300 or more. how can this not be a serious safety concern?. quite frankly the Chrysler service line is poor to useless.

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving 15 mph uphill, there was an abnormal whining sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the RPM was fluctuating. Additionally, the vehicle shifted out of gear and started rolling backwards. The contact stopped the vehicle and attempted to restart the vehicle to continue to drive however, the vehicle continued to shift out of gear. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as a transmission failure and recommended that the transmission be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.

Potential Consequences:
The drivers side sliding door won’t open. We have tried locking and unlocking the door, but the lock won’t move. We have tried opening using the indoor and outdoor handles, driver and passenger buttons, and key fob. We have tried changing out the fuse. When getting a repair for another issue, the mechanics were unable to open the door as well. This poses a safety issue because in case of an accident that renders the other sliding door unusable, passengers would not be able to exit the vehicle.

Passenger side sliding door failed. Not able to open door manually, using key fob, or using inside door button. Driver side sliding door is operational and can be opened using all of the aforementioned methods. Component is available to be inspected. The safety of the driver and passengers are put at risk due to the inability to open the door from the inside. If any situation was to compromise the drivers side then the passenger door would lock in the passengers. The component within the door has not been inspected. The warning before the failure was a loud noise every time the door was unlocked or locked. All methods of locking the door would produce this noise.

The vehicle left me stranded and would not go forward and then I got a brand new transmission under warranty and literally 4 month later the transmission started acting up and I have continued to have issues with it ever since I have gotten it and it continues to have transmission issues! It even has low miles but it is frustrating because now I have to pay out of pocket almost 5 grand when this vehicle has been having issues since I have gotten it.

Potential Consequences:
Passenger sliding rear door latch would not unlatch by any means of normal operation. Lock tab inside would not move to unlock position and key fob also would not unlock door. I took the inside panel off and readjusted the locking rod mechanism. That was the only way to get it to work again. This happened several times in both lock and unlock positions. Currently it is stuck in the unlock position and i will leave it that way for purpose of safety due to if it gets stuck in lock position and i were to be in an accident i would not be able to get my grand kids out by normal operation.
Corrective Action:
Passenger sliding rear door latch would not unlatch by any means of normal operation. Lock tab inside would not move to unlock position and key fob also would not unlock door. Currently it is stuck in the unlock position and i will leave it that way for purpose of safety due to if it gets stuck in lock position and i were to be in an accident i would not be able to get my grand kids out by normal operation.
