SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

Brake Master Cylinder is LEAKING out the back of master cylinder and into brake booster, lost almost ALL of the brake fluid in short trip as soon as it started.. Its an Identical issue to current Recall 22S11 or 22S14 on many if not all 2016 2017 Expeditions. My truck was built at the same Kentucky plant that produced the trucks with this exact issue, build date [XXX] built in the same time frame the trucks have the issue . But Ford reports it as Not a recall.. Its Doing the EXACT SAME issue that is part of recall 22S14 and 22S11.. and is an incredible huge Safety Risk causing potential death to the driver or other motorist if the truck runs out of brake fluid .. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

Electronic throttle body will go into a limp mode and has no power to accelerate. This happens while driving down the street or highway and you might have enough power to pull to side of the road or street and not get run over. I have seen other reports of this and Ford extended their warranty on some vehicles to 10 years or 150,000 miles. These are mainly the eco boost motors. My vehicle has 88,000 miles and is regularly serviced. One occurrence was on a road under construction with no place to pull over quickly when this happened.

Potential Consequences:

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the blower motor had failed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V648000 (Visibility, Electrical System). The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer and the blower motor was replaced; however, the blower motor failed several days after the repair. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a frayed connector or pigtail that was the original connector to the blower motor that had been replaced by the dealer during the recall repair. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer had a specific note in the recall information that only the blower motor was to be replaced and that the pig tail connector would not be covered under the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,986.

ENGINE

Potential Consequences:

We were on vacation and on our way back to the hotel from hiking on our last night in North Carolina. The check engine light came on and the car started sputtering and the accelerator would not work. We were slowing down and the car just would not go. We put it in park and turned the car off and sat there for 10 minutes. We turned the car back on and and then the wrench light came on. We had to keep turning the car on and off for the last 5 miles of the drive home which took us over an hour with letting the car cool off and turning it back on. When we did manage to go, we could only drive 25 mph. This was on a holiday weekend. We had to pay another $150 to stay where we were to get the car towed to the dealership. We then had to wait for the dealership to open to take the car and fix the problem which then cost me $800. Now prior to even going on vacation, I had the car completely checked over and service done. Nevermind, that the warranty had just expired on it. But who thought that with actually taking care of your car, it would break down and as soon as weeks after the warranty is up. I looked online and saw that this issue has been an ongoing issue for thousands of other Ford Expeditions. I would like my money back and this to be recalled. I've attached all the paperwork. It is due to an inoperable throttle sensor where the throttle then fails to work. Please recall this issue and have them return my money.

Potential Consequences:

something burning in truck and then the front blower ceased working. Now I know why - many owners reporting same things and this repair should be covered, or recall expanded to include these additional repairs if needed due to the excessive heat from the blower motor. This could have very easily caused a vehicle fire while I was driving, and we could have been seriously injured. 2) rear back up camera failure due to poor seal around camera and lack of waterproofing of camera electronics causing corrosion and failure. Problem clearly seen in attached video ( not my car but same exact issue) Again, many other owners experiencing same issue. This is a safety hazard as camera suddenly failed while I was reversing and caused a near miss of a pedestrian. Camera components need to be waterproofed and sealed better - there is clearly water leaking into the rear door panel causing corrosion as indicated by dealer.
