Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012 and 2017 Focus vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI gasoline engines and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles equipped with 2.0L GTDI engines, previously recalled under 18V-735. The affected vehicles did not have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated as intended. The rear left side seat back frame may have an insufficient weld between the outboard pivot bracket and the pivot nut joint, resulting in the seat back having reduced strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS NEEDED AND WAS TOWED TO APPLE FORD LINCOLN APPLE VALLEY (7200 150TH ST W, APPLE VALLEY, MN 55124) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CAR WAS FULLY STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A STATE NUMBERED HIGHWAY. I PUT THE CAR INTO 1ST GEAR (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) AS USUAL AND GOT THE CAR MOVING. WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND THE CLUTCH PEDAL GOT STUCK FULLY ENGAGED TO THE FLOOR, NOT ALLOWING ME TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR AND KEEP MOVING. I WAS ABLE TO FORCE THE CLUTCH TO DISENGAGE AFTER A FEW SECONDS AND GET THE CAR INTO 2ND GEAR. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD. THE CLUTCH WAS BURNED IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET THE CAR MOVING UP TO SPEED AND IT TOOK THE ENTIRE NIGHT FOR THE SMELL TO DISSIPATE. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME AFTER THAT AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING MORNING. SINCE THE DEALER CANNOT RECREATE THE ISSUE, THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FURTHER THAN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK.

WHEN I GOT TO THE LIGHT I WAS ABLE TO STOP TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR, THE VEHICLE STARTED BUT IT WAS A RUFF START THE SAME PROMPTS CAME ON ALONG WITH A NEW ONE IT WAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. NOW THE CAR IS THROWING A CODE FOR A FUEL RAIL LOW PRESSURE AND STALLS OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING EVEN WHEN I'M ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I'VE NOTICED FORD HAS THE RECALL LISTED ON OTHER MODELS OF THE SAME YEAR BUT NOT MINE.
