Potential Consequences:
While shifting from reverse to drive, car shifted back to park and activated parking brake. Unable to move car forward and needed to be towed to dealership for repair. The 2013-16 Ford Fusions are included in recall on bushing failure, however, my 2017 Fusion is not included. However, clearly this is an issue with millions of Ford vehicles and recall should be expanded. Shift system fault notification appeared after this incident. The contact stated that roadside assistance arrived and it was difficult to remove the lug nuts. The contact stated that after much effort, the flat tire was removed and replaced with the spare tire. I took my car to the Ford dealer today for a oil change and was told that the lug nuts were defective and had to be replaced. They charged me $237.40 to replaced them. I have a extended warranty and they told me they were not cover under this warranty. Checking on line I find there is a large number of vehicle that have the same problem with the same lug nuts. Why is not a recall on these lug nuts.

Turned off 2017 Ford Fusion SE 1.5l and received a msg: shift says fault - service soon. Car kept telling me it was not in park even though it did turn off. Placed wheel blocks behind the wheels because it was "parked" at an angle. I can't understand how the 2017 is excluded from the previous years recalls for the shift bushing issue. After checking the bushing, the car did start but will not shift.
