FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

My 2018 Honda Accord Ex-L 91,560 miles has an issue with the fuel pump/injectors while driving on the roadway and/or highway. My vehicle will come to a mid stop abruptly because it is not getting enough power to the engine from the fuel pump. This has caused safety issue to myself, passengers in my vehicle, pedestrians and and other drivers while operating my vehicle. Honda has been made aware of this issue and has over 650,000 vehicles manufactured between 2018-2020 with the same reported issue and has previously issued a recall for only certain 2018-2020 vehicles. Furthermore, Honda refuses to repair my 2018 vehicle under the recall for the same issue based on my VIN#. I have notified Honda of the inherent danger to myself and others and they have ignored the safety hazard and refuse to repair the fuel pump which typically has a life span of 250,000 miles or more.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

Two cylinders began misfiring on the same day due to fuel injectors. Dealership inspected the injectors and confirmed they needed to be replaced. Under 60k miles on the vehicle. This caused a check engine light as well as 8 other error messages to show on the dash. Exhaust system error message was seen. Brake system light and ABS light turned on due to the fault in the exhaust system. Unclear if the systems are still working as intended. There were no prior warnings or issues until these dash lights turned on. Fuel injector issues causing engine misfire is dangerous at high speeds and can cause further damage to the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. Additionally, the vehicle consumed an excessive amount of coolant, causing the vehicle to overheat. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The safety features were inadvertently disabled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the fuel injectors were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

Potential Consequences:

ALL dashboard warning lights come on and after doing a Google search, it appears to be a COMMON ISSUE for Honda Accords for 2018 and newer. They will come on and either stay on for days/weeks at a time and then just go off on their own. Every time I schedule to have it serviced and run a diagnostic test, by the time I get to the service center, the lights have gone off and they are unable to run a diagnostic without the warning lights being on. Only was able to get a diagnostic once as Honda doesn't run diagnostics on weekends and I work during the week. The warnings that show up in my HondaLink are: *Engine System Problem *Electric Power Steering Problem *CMBS Problem *Adaptive Cruise Control Problem *CMBS Problem My car is regularly service at the Honda dealership and currently has less than 48,000 miles. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD COME ON RANDOMLY How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? IT SAYS VEHICLE MAY ROLL UPON BRAKE RELEASE, COLLICION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM PROBLEM, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PROBLEM, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM - REDUCED TRACTION AND HANDLING, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM PROBLEM, AND ALL SAY "SEE YOUR DEALER" Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? YES, BUT THEY HAD NO REAL SOLUTION (Not the location where I purchased my vehicle - only offered to do what wasn't covered under my warranty so that the "tech can get paid" (NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO STONECREST HONDA IN LITHONIA, GA) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? INSPECTED/DIAGNOSTIC RAN AT AUTOZONE Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO WARNINGS - JUST ALL LIGHTS COME ON

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

My 2018 Accord had 22628 miles on it. I brought in for an oil change and tire rotation at my local dealer, Klein Honda in Everett Washington on 12/28/22. They performed the service and they gave the car an inspection. It said that the brake pads on all four wheels were at 8mm. which would be normal at 22628 miles. Two weeks later I started hearing a crunching noise when I would come to a stop. I made an appointment for a few days later 01/26/2023. I brought my car to the same dealer and they told me I needed a rear brake job, both pads and rotors. They said the pads were at 3mm on the left rear and 1mm and metal to metal on the right rear. $600 dollars, plus tax. I don't understand how pads can go from 8mm to 3mm in three weeks. I had only driven 259 miles between appointments. No warning lights came on and the only indication was the noise. The dealer said all the breaking systems were fine and workinkg properly after they did the brake job. There is no way that could have happened in 259 miles. Even if the first inspection was a mistake or the tech was taking short cuts, the fact that it wore out rear brakes at under 23000 miles should make a recall. Honda had a similar problem in 2010 and had a recall.
