Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Potential Consequences:
My 2019 Honda Passport with VIN# ending with**********2184. A safety recall of a faulty fuel pump was dangerous to drive. The faulty pump recalled from Honda NHTSA warned drivers that are at risk of crashes and accidents. The increased risk of property damage as well. I was exhausted trying to get a loaner car from my Dealership that I have all of my routine maintenance is performed. The fuel pump failure from December 2023 as of today still unavailable. On 6/15/2024 I loss control of my 2019 Honda passport. The rapid acceleration and rapidly stalling the vehicle etc loss of power and control. I hit a Tractor Trailer hitch destroying my vehicle completely. My injuries are still extremely problematic mental and physically. I was arrested for DUI which put the blame of me being Intoxicated or Driving on drugs. I was not taken to a Hospital but to jail. I requested to seek treatment in the Jail Clinic.I was released without a bond. The cops wanted my consent for blood to determine my alleged DUI. August 7th 2024 I received a letter stating that my blood was negative and rescinded of suspension allowing me to drive. I can’t drive with Seatbelt sign injuries neck, spine trauma to degenerative spine exacerbation. No car no job unable to be my elderly mothers care taker. My mental health has become significantly worse ever in my entire life. A faulty fuel pump and a false DUI arrest are daunting on a daily basis. I have also contemplated suicide. I am financially crippled. So I don’t understand if I was cleared as the cause of the accident. I was already warned about and Honda knew that without a DUI case. Hondas Safety recall of the faulty fuel pump. The indicators were a red flag but my Honda dealership just told me to just pray everything I have to drive my vehicle dates 2/22 2024 —-3/14/24 4/24 and other miscellaneous dates every time frustrating. The inspection of the faulty fuel pump was explained on the recall. After the collision nothing left to check.

Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
The automatic emergency braking system engages in times when it is not appropriate to do so. The vehicle will flash the “brake” warning light on the dashboard, will shake the steering wheel, apply light braking, and in a few instances has applied hard braking. We have been unable to determine a specific trigger for this issue. The vehicle will engage this feature on strait roads with no other vehicles or obstructions on the road. It has happened during both rainy and sunny conditions. The vehicle has also exhibited this behavior when going up and down hills both with and without other vehicles present. The vehicle will do this sometimes when other vehicles enter our lane at a safe distance and at low speeds, at or below 30 mph. The vehicle has also done this at highway speeds of 55+ mph both with and without other vehicles or obstructions in the roadway. We have experienced this while driving curvy roads both with vehicles passing in the opposite lane of traffic and when no other vehicles are present. The feature appears to randomly engage at all speeds between 15+ mph to 70+ mph with or without vehicles on the roadway. It also doesn’t appear to matter if a vehicle is in our lane, an adjacent lane, or the opposite lane of traffic. This issue was identified and has been ongoing since the vehicle was purchased in October 2023. The issue happens at least 1 time most days the vehicle is driven but can range between 1 time and 3+ times each day. The vehicle is driven consistently 30+ miles each day with occasional trips of 300-500 miles in a single day. The other issue we have noticed is the rear cross traffic warning. We have noticed something’s this will engage when no other traffic or obstacles are present. We have also observed this feature failing to engage when a vehicle or obstacle is present. This issue does not happen often but has been observed enough that is has come to my attention as a potential issue.

Corrective Action:
BOTH SUN VISORS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPLOY, WITH SIGNIFICANT RESISTANCE ACCOMPANIED BY LOUD CREAKING NOISE. THEY ARE A DEFINITE HAZARD TO WHEN MOVING. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALER, AND HONDA AMERICA, AS WELL. AS THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, MY ONLY OPTION IS TO HAVE THEM REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. HAVING OWNED MULTIPLE HONDAS (AT LEAST 7) OF DIFFERENT MODELS, ALL ACCRUING MILEAGE BEYOND WARRANTY LIMITITATIONS, AND NEVER EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM, I FIND THE SITUATION MOST FRUSTRATING AND PERPLEXING. HONDA AMERICA DISMISSES ANY RESPONSIBILITY ON THEIR PART AS 'NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR'. THE MOST SIMPLE OF MECHANICAL FEATURES IN THE UNT COULD LEAD TO TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS. I DOCUMENTED THE ISSUE AS AN INCIDENT OF 10/21/24, BUT IN FACT THE ISSUE OCCURS WHENEVER ONE DRIVES THE VEHICLE, AND HAS BEEN DOING SO A LONG TIME. I FELT CERTAIN HONDA WOULD ADDRESS WITH A SAFETY RECALL.

Backup camera is suddenly distorted with green and pink colors covering the actual image. The image changes each time, but is often very hard or impossible to safely view what is behind vehicle while backing up. Vehicle is garage kept, no sun or water damage possible. This significantly increases the risk of a crash while backing up. Because the image is so distorted, it often looks like there is an object present, causing driver to swerve even though there is not really anything there. Many other 2019 Passport owners are reporting the same thing in online forums. Honda insists this is a malfunctioning camera, but will not accept it as a manufacturing defect.
