STEERING

Potential Consequences:

When turning sharply and accelerating at low speeds or from a stop, vehicle makes clicking sound. Vehicle is brand new, and I noticed this with about 600mi on the vehicle. I'm concerned this could lead to future loss of steering and cause an accident or render vehicle not drivable. I have taken it to the dealer and their mechanic confirmed hearing the same clicking noise and is awaiting guidance from the manufacturer (Honda corporate) on how to resolve it. I'm still waiting for a solution .

SUSPENSION

Potential Consequences:

an incident involving the collision warning system of a car resulted in the car abruptly braking without any apparent immediate danger or obstacle in front of the vehicle. The system activated the automatic emergency braking feature in response to a perceived threat that did not exist. This phenomenon is known as “phantom braking,” where the vehicle’s sensors misinterpret the surrounding environment, leading to an unnecessary and sometimes forceful deceleration. The abrupt braking action startled the me, creating a situation of potential confusion and concern. Fortunately, no collision occurred, but this incident highlights a serious safety risk associated with phantom braking events.

Defect Description:

SUSPENSION

Potential Consequences:

I am reporting an ongoing issue with my vehicle involving a persistent and concerning clicking sound emanating from the chassis or suspension area. The sound is most prominent when driving over bumps or uneven surfaces, and it has the distinct quality of something snapping or popping under pressure. The noise appears to be coming from the undercarriage of the vehicle, though it is difficult to pinpoint the exact source. Details of the Issue: The clicking noise has become increasingly noticeable. The sound is sharp and distinct, similar to the noise one would expect from a component under strain or sudden impact. This has led to growing concerns regarding the integrity of the suspension or chassis, as it suggests that one or more parts may be loose, damaged, or malfunctioning.
