Safety Issue:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. Moisture may enter the reverse light assemblies and cause a light failure.

Potential Risk:
Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 8, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Safety Issue:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.

Potential Risk:
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the engine assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 17, 2024. This is a phased recall. Lexus LX600 owners will receive letters in multiple phases, beginning February 2025 through Fall 2025. The phase 4 remedy launch for the Tundra is anticipated in May 2025, and for Lexus in June 2025. The load carrying capacity modification label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. Potential Risk:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.

Potential Risk:
A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware. A software error in the combination meter's electronic control unit (ECU) may cause the Instrument Panel LCD display to go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Potential Risk:
A blank display will not show critical information such as the speedometer or warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode which prevents the EPB from being engaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Potential Risk:
An electronic parking brake that cannot be engaged while in "park," may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Potential Consequences:

The Digital Instrument Cluster continues to have freezing and lagging while in motion. The DTE (Distance To Empty) has reset itself in the midst of driving with no input from the driver. This has continued to happen for multiple months. Also, the Fuel Gauge has become stuck. Toyota did release a TSB (T-SB-0022-23) to "resolve" this issue but it continues to be an issue well into the 2024 model year.

Recall 24TA07 (Interim Notice 24TB07) was issued on May 30, 2024. Almost a month to the day, our engine locked up while traveling 60MPH through our town. Failure occurred July 1, 2024 @ approx. 11:30a Central. It took Toyota Roadside Assistance over 4 hours to get a tow truck to us. It was approx. 105°F Heat Index. Case was opened with Toyota Brand Engagement Center on July 2, 2024 @ approx. 7am Central. Case was closed without any further communication to us or our dealership. The lack of communication from Toyota Corporate (Brand Engagement Center) is unacceptable.

Purchased this vehicle in Oct of 2022. Since then, the vehicle lost all power and shut down on a major interstate in July 0f 2023 with many check engine lights coming on. After coasting to the shoulder of the road, I turned off the ignition, waited 15-20min, and the vehicle started. I continued my two hour drive back home, bring my truck into the dealer within 2 days of this occurring. The dealer looked at it, notified Toyota, and said they are seeing debris in the engines causing power loss, but that Toyota has not yet informed them of any remedies and to continue to drive the truck. A few months later, while towing a trailer the engine was making a knocking sound and lost power, only allowing me to reach about 2k RPM with the pedal to the floor. It lasted for about 10 min or so, and went away. After this incident, the truck makes a knocking sound while towing my 5K pound travel trailer, a few times every single time I tow. I did not bring it to the dealer for this issue. June 2024, I was towing my trailer for a camoing trip, and about 2 hours in to the 3 hour drive, the truck lost power and would not exceed 3K rpm or 45MPH on the interstate almost getting my hot by 3 different vehicles (the engine still knocks every time I tow), the loss of power lasted off and on until I made it to my camp site. I parked truck, and it sat for 3 days while we used our other vehicle to drive around in. On the way back home on that Sunday, the truck regained power, but would still make a knocking sound under load. I brought it into the dealer on the day after (Monday). I also uncovered thaty Toyota released a statement that all Dealer should stop selling my model year truck due to a "Safety Recall', one that describes the symptoms I've been having. The tech at the dealer was in communicaion with Toyota, and Toyota was teeling them that unless they could replicat ethe issue, there was nothing they could do. I have more to write.

Not to mention that the fuel level will reset to FULL even though the vehicle has been driven for most, if not all, of the usable fuel. This continues to happen on 2024 model year vehicles.

Suddenly the gas gauge shows tank isfull even that it can be empty. I took the truck to the dealer for this issue, but it seems that there isn't a fix. Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the Driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat. If we reduce the Lumbar Support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product.

Defect Description:

SEATS

Potential Consequences:

Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the Driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat. If we reduce the Lumbar Support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product.
