Safety Issue:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. Moisture may enter the reverse light assemblies and cause a light failure.

Potential Risk:
Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 8, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Safety Issue:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.

Potential Risk:
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the engine assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 17, 2024. This is a phased recall. Lexus LX600 owners will receive letters in multiple phases, beginning February 2025 through Fall 2025. The phase 4 remedy launch for the Tundra is anticipated in May 2025, and for Lexus in June 2025. The load carrying capacity modification label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

Potential Risk:
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Safety Issue:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.

Potential Risk:
A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware. A software error in the combination meter's electronic control unit (ECU) may cause the Instrument Panel LCD display to go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Potential Risk:
A blank display will not show critical information such as the speedometer or warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Lexus NX250, NX350, and Toyota Tundra vehicles. The Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode which prevents the EPB from being engaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Potential Risk:
An electronic parking brake that cannot be engaged while in "park," may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:

Incorrect programming of the parking-assist electronic control unit (ECU) software, may cause the front camera image to appear on the multimedia display instead of the rear camera image when the shifter is placed into reverse. Potential Consequences:

At certain times, when coming to a stop, and then attempting to proceed, the throttle with delay or lag from a stop. This has happened since the start of ownership in Feb 2022 up until today. Toyota has issued on previous Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) - T-SB-0111-22 - that Toyota states should resolve an issue with "Hesitation From Stop and Surge Concerns". The TCM -Transmission Control Module - logic has been modiWed to address these conditions. According to Toyota, this updated logic SHOULD keep this from happening. This TSB was released December 16, 2022. To date, this issue continues to occur. The only way to keep it from happening is to Reset the TCM Learning. This requires the battery to be unplugged for an extended period of time. There was a subsequent TCM logic update for Recall 24TA02 (NHTSA Campaign Number 24V125000). It would seem that this TCM Logic Update has actually caused this condition to be present more often. This is something that we have expressed to our Service Consultant at every visit and it is still occurring over two years later. We have had this happen multiple times while attempting to proceed through a 4-way stop, as well as trying to merge into tra`c in slower moving city streets. There are members of an online forum who have been able to record the data aow and show when and how the delay occurs. Other than December 2022 TSB, Toyota has not acknowledged this issue even though it continues to occur on the MY22+ Tundra/MY23+ Sequoia, as well as the MY18+ Lexus LS 500. I am lead to believe this is a result of the programming for the Direct Shift 10- AT from Aisin/Toyota and/or the V35A-FTS, both Type '17 (LS 500) and the Type '21 (Tundra/ Sequoia).

Tire tread is cracking and breaking away in small chunks. The tires are OEM (Toyota Tundra 22') Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/70R18 model 685 with manufacture date of 1022. I do not feel safe driving on these tires due to tread rubber breaking away even in the middle of the tire. All four tires show cracks but both rear tires are worse of the four. I have had regular service and tire rotation by Toyota dealership but they did not notify me of the issue. The truck has 17K on it and tires have plenty of tread depth. Location of truck is in the southwest and not is used in cold environment.

Potential Consequences:

Drove the truck to the store, upon starting it to leave the engine had a loud knocking and whining sound (the truck has only 38xxx miles). I drove directly across the street to the dealership who looked and listened to it and was then told that because there was no engine light on, I would have to make an appointment for later on the following week. They then told me because the engine light was not on that I would be fine to drive home. I did question this several times and was reassured that as long as I did not "gas it" I would be okay to drive it. On the ride home, my truck power kept surging, the entire truck was shaking due to the rough idle and the engine smelt like it was very hot. I did end up towing my truck to a different Toyota dealership that agreed to look at it. The truck is no longer drivable. This is the 10th recall on this truck.

I did question this several times and was reassured that as long as I did not "gas it" I would be okay to drive it. On the ride home, my truck power kept surging, the entire truck was shaking due to the rough idle and the engine smelt like it was very hot. I did end up towing my truck to a different Toyota dealership that agreed to look at it. The truck is no longer drivable. This is the 10th recall on this truck.

Drove the truck to the store, upon starting it to leave the engine had a loud knocking and whining sound (the truck has only 38xxx miles). I drove directly across the street to the dealership who looked and listened to it and was then told that because there was no engine light on, I would have to make an appointment for later on the following week. They then told me because the engine light was not on that I would be fine to drive home. Apparently widespread issue with uneven tire wear. I know multiple owners with the same issue despite rotating tires even 5k miles (myself included. They did apparently correct the issues with the trd pro but have failed to solve it for the rest of the line up. Much more wear on the outer aspects of the tires.

It happen next time and they call me for check up. i went to toyota and show my video and picture about break malfunction. they charge me for diagnosis $189 and found nothing. It will very danger if I pass the one lane county road and malfunction my break system So far no accidents, Ihave video and picture of dash board. date ,time and place that occurred. also receipts from toyata. thank you
