ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
THE GAS TANK/GAUGE WILL BE ON "FULL", THEN-WHILE DRIVING, THE GAS GAUGE WILL GO TO "E" AND THE DASH WILL ALERT YOU AS TO NO FUEL. UPON TAKING THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME, THE DEALER COULD FIND NO ISSUES THROUGH THE COMPUTER. THE "SECOND" OCCURRENCE-THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT DEALER, AND THEY STATED THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE "THIRD" OCCURRENCE-THE GAUGE WENT TO "E", WHILE DRIVING, THE DEALER CLAIMED IT WAS NOW A CORD/WIRE THAT ATTACHED TO THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR RUNNING THE LENGTH OF THE VEHICLE UNDER THE TRUCK. SINCE IT "APPEARS" THE RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE IS QUESTIONABLE, AND THE DEALER(S) HAVE NOT FULLY CORRECTED THE ISSUE, HOW CAN I BE CONFIDENT THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY HAS FUEL? WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT DOWN A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY THE FRONT PASSENGER CONTROL ARM BROKE CAUSING THE WHEEL TO COLLAPSE AND FOLD UP UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. THE DRIVER NOTICED LOSS OF STEERING AND THEN AN ABRUPT STOP. THERE WERE NO SIGNS THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE BEFORE THE INCIDENT OCCURED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STRIKE ANYTHING TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE. THE DRIVEWAY WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUALLY THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. NO ONE WAS HURT IN THE INCIDENT. THE FRACTURE IN THE CONTROL ARM SHOWS SIGNS OF CRACKING (BASED ON PICTURE ATTACHED).
