General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with diesel engines. The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock-up.

The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles with electronic brake control modules (EBCM) replaced during vehicle assembly. The bolts that attach the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly may not be properly tightened, which could fail to seal the two sub-assemblies and allow water intrusion.

TIRES
Potential Consequences:
Tire = LT275/65R20. After 20 minutes on surface streets in 98° weather, entered freeway and heard a "thumping" sound every second at about 45 mph. Appeared to be the freeway but after accelerating to about 55 mph a loud bang was heard and the tire blew. This was a catastrophic failure where the tread fully separated from the wheel and did substantial damage to the side and wheel well of the truck. The rim was also damaged beyond repair.
Corrective Action:

The key constantly gets stuck in the ignition after shutting off the vehicle. Some times have have to start the car multiple times and move the steering wheel to get the key to come out. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to play with it for up to 3 minutes just trying to get the key out.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate was independently unlatched. The contact stopped and parked the vehicle. The contact stated that the tailgate opened and closed independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a tailgate module failure. The contact was informed that the tailgate module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred two months after the repair. The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that the tailgate opened independently while driving and while the vehicle was parked. The contact stated that failure also occurred while using the tow hitch and the tailgate was scratched. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); and the contact linked the failure to the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty and was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Potential Consequences:
I have a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD diesel truck. Twice while driving uphill the transmission seemed to lock up with a very “jerky” move. GM has acknowledged this problem and has issued a recall. I have taken my truck and have had the recall “remedy” performed. However, THIS REMEDY IS A BAND AID NOT A SOLUTION. The remedy/recall is only reprogramming the computer that controls the transmission to warn the driver that the problem is about to occur and will limit the speed of the vehicle to not exceed the fifth gear until the problem is repaired. I feel the transmission issue should be addressed in the recall not delayed until the issue re-occurs. As per a letter I received from GM the repair that’s needed is Special Coverage N232395330 is the replacement of Transmission Valve Body.

The tail gate opens when parked and remote is on the counter. Tail gate now has damage from opening on its own and hitting the garage door. This has happened on multiple occasions and in multiple scenarios.
